Whats up BA, I recently saw @BrianKeith714 's big island maui post and was wondering if you all could give me a hand on my trip. Im staying on the island of Oahu, specifically the northshore (Turtle bay resort). I will not be island jumping so my requests are for oahu only. Must hit locations, bars, breweries? Im also looking for a nice beer distributor/ store on the way up to the resort. If anyone has any tips that would be great. Thank you.
North Shore is bleak. All these are in Waikiki area: Brew'd (good in-house bottle list), Real A Gastropub, Honolulu Beerworks (growler fills), BeerLabHI. Tamura's for bottles to take to Turtle Bay.
Bonzer Front is another place more towards the north shore (Haleiwa) where you can pick up some beers to take back to your hotel. BeerLab is my favorite place to go for locally crafted beers; Beerworks would be #2. Real has the best tap list. If you do go to Honolulu to visit those places, BevMart is a great shop in town. BevMart is about 5 minutes away from BeerLab.
Beerinhawaii.com is a good place to start. Definitely hit up the breweries; Lanikai Brewing, BeerLab HI, Honolulu Beerworks, just to name a few. If you like kitschy tiki bars, DO NOT miss La Mariana Sailing Club. It's like it's stuck back in time, even has two blind guys playing music by request nightly. Food is ok, but the drinks and atmosphere is hard to beat.
