Hi All - am overnighting out in Oak Brook and wanted to see if anyone had any suggestions for dinner and a few good beers. Checked the directory and not much out here it seems. Appreciate the help!

Make the 20 minute drive over to Lisle and go to The Bavarian Lodge. Great food and awesome tap list.

It's about 10 minutes away in Lombard, but I suggest Rock Bottom. Solid beer and food.

The Lunar is nearby in Villa Park, Palmers in Lagrange, Pints or Charlies in Elmhurst.

    No food at the Lunar.

Unfortunately, if he's here for just tonight the Lodge is closed.

The Tap House Grill in Westmont is not that far, and would be a good choice.

Completely forgot about them being closed Mon/Tues.

Yeah, but you can order food in if you want. Michael Anthony's definitely delivers there, Roberto's in Elmhurst should too. Ask the bartender, they'll probably give you some suggested options.

How about Two brothers brewing in warrenville its just west on butterfield road a few miles. 5-8 or so I believe

Not talking about the round house either the original brewery.

Yeah, but that 5-8 miles is really more like a 30-40 minute drive depending on the time of day, especially with the construction on Butterfield right now.

Just don't go at rush hour, and it's by no means a 40 minute drive. You'd take 88 from Oakbrook anyway.

I would do Lunar, and then I'd decide if you are only up for a short drive, or you're feeling like a serious tap night. If you want to take the hike, you either go to the city (outside of rush hour, it's only about 30 minutes) or to Mokena and hit Tribes. If you aren't up for that kind of adventure, Tap House Grill in Westmont is a good option. Or just go to the Binny's right down the road from your lodging, and get stuff for your room.

Yeah, I guess I was thinking more along the lines of dinner = rush hour.

Thanks guys. Ended up going to the Tap House Grill in Westmont. Great choice. Menu was good, service was great. Beer list fabulous. Started with an Alpha King, then Founders All Day IPA, Union Jack IPA, and finished with a Dreadnought. How can you beat that?
And did see a food first for for me - "Totachos". Tater Tots turned into nachos. Woo hoo!

Is it safe to assume IPA's are your favorite style?

Check out Standard Market in Westmont. Good bottle selection and 12 taps. Can't beat that!
