Yeah, sometimes it's available at other times of year. But, historically it's been a winter seasonal.

I'm getting some Built to Grill to go and heading in at noon. I'll report on the buzz/sour tent if they don't update twitter, which I am also highly disappointed in so far. Three updates yesterday and they apparently waited until the entire run of taps changed over. A significant step down from last year when they pretty much updated it after every new beer.

This significantly affects my usual game plan where I don't touch the place Friday mid-afternoon through Saturday evening unless I see something worthy posted on twitter and then hop on the bike and head down there.

Stayed until about 4:30. It was nothing like the horror stories posted from other previous experiences. A few long lines but few and far between. Well mannered. A lot of happy people in a confined space having a good time.
    Kudos to Portland!

Yesterday was my first experience of the OBF. A bit of a zoo, but wasn't too bad. I left around 5 though. I definitely prefer the more laid back festivals where it is a rarity to see a full pour.

Highlight for me was the Fort George, 12 yr Barley Wine from the buzz tent.

Gosh I feel old! I mean relative to when I started attending the OBF. I can remember when it was a guarantee that the opening of the first day of the event, it was going to be crowd free until about 4PM! I guess the word has gotten out. And, it's usually loads of the "post bac" crowd. On the beer front... my high points have been the Dynomite, Double DBA, Knock on Wood and the good ol' Sculpin.

Went yesterday at open, left around 6 and walked across the river to HotD, Cascade and APEX. My first time at HotD and Cascade, and I was impressed with both, especially Cascade. Went to the brewers dinner on Wednesday which was fun, but not as impressive as I expected.

Due to work, Sunday was the only day I was able to attend and the sour/buzz tents were shut down. Rasberry Crush was a nice surprise, as was Row 2 Hill 56. Dynomite! was fantastic...but that wasn't really a surprise.
