I'm not sure what a QR code is, but this sounds scary.

Ah. When I bottled, I used to use colored caps to distinguish batches. But they are only available in a few colors. After a while, it was mayhem. With kegs it's easier. Finish the damned thing to make room in the rotation.

It's definitely a life style. Brewing is a weekly thing for me especially when there are competitions about. Right now I have 5 Kegs going and several full fermentors. Two weeks ago I had a bout 80 gallons chillin. As for glasses I have about 30-40 and little over 200 bottles in the cellar and that's not counting a couple cases of homebrew. There is no way I can drink it all myself so I'm big on sharing. Beer is a huge part of my life and will continue to be until I am deceased. Prost!

If my beer was on par with my golf game, I commit seppuku.

Golf was my obsession before my son. Who do you like to win this weekend? I should note I'm still obsessed should my wife take my chains off.

My wife and I just had our 3rd kid (3 boys) two months ago. I don't golf nearly as much as I used to but I certainly enjoy it more now that I can take my oldest with me. He's only six but it's fun to teach him.

I think Graeme McDowell will pull it off.

I only buy the cheap caps with a blank top and I put my batch number in Sharpie on top. I agree they start to look the same.

Completely obsessed. I get nervous when I have one of the five carboys empty.

i print labels... they look great and easy to distinguish what beer and bottled on date

I've thought about that but I don't want to have to take the labels off after each batch. I've gotten to a point where I have enough label-less bottles that I don't have to soak them in Oxyclean or anything before each batch. My friends are good about thoroughly rinsing the bottles so all I have to do is run them through the dishwasher on the the sani-clean cycle.

I just put on the labels on top of commercial labels and some have a couple layers now... I'm not worried about the bottles looking pristine. For a while I was using sharpie on priority mail stickers but that took a ridiculous amount of time and I'm back to printing. Cheers!

I don't brew all that often, ~ 10x a year. However, I think about brewing a lot. I read forums. I read books. I listen to podcasts. I frequently find myself inserting something I learned from these endeavors into conversations with my wife, neighbors, colleagues, and students. Sometimes it is even relevant. I imagine that they (especially my wife) think I am obsessed.

I started small w/ 5 gallon extract + spec. grains. Since then (11 yrs.) I have gone to all grain on an Igloo cooler system to a 3 tier 20 gallon set up. 4 years a go the wife wanted me out of the garage so we built a 20' x 16', 2 story "shed" to be our brew house. I wouldn't call it obsession though. An obsession takes over your life. Brewing enriches ours.

Love this idea. We have a nice little clearing in the woods behind our house. I'd love to run power and water out there and make a brew house. Building it on stilts maybe :grinning: Sadly, the budget says nay. Can you post some pictures?
