It's a trip I've made before and will make again, but I thought I'd make a thread this time. I'm down to bringing some bottles from home if anyone wanted to try and meet up or do an IP trade.

    The Trip:

1.) State Line Liquors (hopefully my first trip spending less than $100 here)
2.) Mispillion (getting cans and possibly another 100 bottle beer)
3.) R & L Liquors (just sounds fun and doesn't seem out of the way)
4.) DFH Pub (draft-only [The Oracle's Cookie & Monaco Wit] and spirits)
5.) I'm open to a different place for food than DFH.

Any place on this route that does mix-six and has Mispillion cans? Best spots on their list that are on the route? Any that might not be at the brewery? Not looking to buy a bunch of six-packs.

Any reason to go to the DFH brewery? I'd only want a Shark tap handle, but those are probably gone.

I looked around on Seekabrew and it didn't seem like there was much that DE gets that we don't get, but imports always seem to go under the radar (Mikkeller, To Ol, Nogne O, and Haandbryggeriet being my favorites, outside of Belgium sours).

I looked at the Places page for DE and really only got R&L. I'm not a big Oyster person and not looking for draft really since I'm driving.

I'm there Saturday through at least Monday. I will be picking up my Burley Oak Rations Club bottles sometime during the stay.

I want to hit up RAR & Evo on the way home, but am usually too late to do that.

    @larryi86 and other DE peeps

Mispillon cans as singles are available at Outlet Liquors. And other places like Cape Wine Spirits and Atlantic Liquors more than likely.

Lots of other food options in Rehoboth I have already been up here for the past week.

Food options for great beer Henlopen Oyster house. Fins is not bad either all depends on what you want

Yes visit the brewery it's a fun tour.

You can easily skip out on Backshore and Ocean City Brewing and not miss a thing. Never been but haven't heard good things about Assawoman. Burley Oak is great and they do crowlers now.

Pickled Pig Pub in Rehoboth has good food and a very good beer program. Henlopen City has great food outside of Oysters.

I would't miss the Dewey Beer Co. Was there at the end of July. Great vibe, food, beer, and people. Totally NOT what you expect in Dewey....well unless you like douchebaggery.

State Line is selling singles of Mispillon cans, got pretty much everything besides Space Otter. Stewart's in Bear is not too far out of the way and does growler fills. Two Stones in Newark should be getting their beer in today/tonight if you would want to grab a quick sample, it is on route 4 just after 72.

As far as imports in DE, it sucks, anything good we get State Line has well stocked.

When will you be heading to State Line?

I agree about Backwater for the most part but their location is awesome. (they had one particular beer that was pretty good when I was there a few weeks ago.) OC Brewing was decent, not bad whatsoever but pretty standard kinda like chain brewpub beer (ala rock bottom, iron hill). Assawoman bay was an awesome place, their IPA was good and they had a bunch of great guest taps. Burley Oak beers were excellent, and I'd highly recommend grabbing some at Anthony's or going to the brewery.

I've been to the brewery, done the tour and had a 10 beer sampler (no DD this time though :slight_frown:).

Yeah, I got a lot of time to kill on Saturday, SU I'll probably just check them out. Had some of their stuff before and was underwhelmed. I might actually walk around Rehobeth this time. Only ever just don't the DFH stuff.

    Sounds good.

Sucks to hear about the imports. I'll keep an eye out for the cans at State Line. Not big on growlers but perhaps this weekend, since it's vacation and I got others to help kill them. I kind of figured State Line would be all I needed.

Is it still worth going to Liquor Depot, R & L Lewis or any of the other ones mentioned in this thread then?

Well, State Line is my first stop. I need to catch up on some sleep and it's an hour drive there. I was thinking probably between noon and three. I was leaning towards later, but if there's a time you're gonna be there, then I can dial in a time and be there then.

If you been to the brewery before then there's probably no reason to go again I would say unless you want swag!

Made a stop over at Dewey Beach for the Beer Co. tried 2 brews wasn't that impressed with them, but certainly not horrible, worth checking out if you are in the area can't hurt.

I work in the morning, so if you wanted to set up a little trade or something I could be there around 1:30
