Saw this one closed out for 2017. Starting another one for 2018.
Has KRBC Church IPA shown up on draft yet? My local spot was unaware of this new one from Kern. But should be on order now. Just wondering if anybody has seen or tried this one yet? And where? This is a brand new IPA from Kern River. Cans will be arriving in the beginning of Feb.

Not in LA, but it has appeared down at Bottlecraft here in SD, so kegs are out in the wild. I was rather unimpressed. Would have preferred just about anything else in Kern's lineup.

Edit: As for new, I believe it was brewed in mid 2017, just shelved for a while and now making a return.

Also had KRBC Church at Bottlecraft and it was underwhelming.

What was outstanding was the Fieldwork International Pale Lager. My first Fieldwork beer because they never show up in OC. Y'all San Diegans are double blessed with local options AND shops with fantastic distro.

We know Modern Times is coming to Anaheim this spring. This is great news! It’s too bad the other guys from San Diego will be coming to the happiest place on earth in Anaheim.

Visiting LA from Sydney Australia for the first time ever this March. Staying downtown.

Figured I'd ask since I'm into food and dining and wanted to make it a part of my short visit but does LA not have a culture of solo diners? Several restaurants I wanted to suss out (Hinoki & The Bird, Trois Mec) don't have a solo diner reservation option :slight_frown:

Solo dining tends to revolve around sitting at the bar. You can definitely do that Hinoki & the Bird (I'm a big fan of their happy hour burger). Trois Mec used to offer late open seating at the bar but I'd double check to make sure that's still an option. I actually prefer Petit Trois which is next door. That's first come, first serve and fills up fast.

Church hasn't hit the stone warehouses yet but it is in route.

    This!
And you are likely to enjoy your stay more with this approach, unless you prefer a table by yourself.

At the bar you can enjoy your food, drink and meet some locals.

Mikkeller DTLA has community tables in the bar area.

Animal lets you walk in and sit at the bar also, if'n you find yourself in that area. I haven't been to Hinoki & The Bird since I stopped working in that area but it was one of my favorite after work spots, and the bar is a great place to enjoy their food. Pretty much every part of town will have several great spots to dine solo. If you're going to be downtown I recommend the burger (and whiskey list) at ERB, the bar at Le Comptoir, the bar at WP24 (I think you can eat there?) or pretty much any spot on any "best of" list that's in Little Tokyo.

Outside of downtown plenty of places have bars where you can eat alone, like Republique, Odys & Penelope, Gracias Madre, Sotto, Wally's in Beverly Hills, Rosaline on Melrose in WeHo... I think Pizzeria Mozza, maybe even the mozz bar at Osteria Mozza...don't be shy, if a place has a bar there's a good chance you can eat all the food sitting there by yourself.

Cheers all for the responses so far, I just wasn't sure if there's a culture of walk-ins in LA - we have it in Sydney but often all it takes its a short call beforehand to ask if they'd accommodate x number of diners rocking up.

I'm staying at the NoMad so will likely ask if they can fit me into the Mezzanine for dinner.

Greetings LA peeps, my sister recently moved to Glendale and aside from Glendale Tap and Hermosillo she is looking for staple food joints (beer not necessary but encouraged...same with cocktails). Her biggest gripe is that she is missing a solid taco shop.

    Help plz and thanks.

El Sauz up the street from Glendale Tap is a pretty serviceable taco shop. I've enjoyed my meal every time there.

To be clear, it's stumbling distance from Glendale Tap. I've stumbled there a few times myself. :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes:

My 4th Rev Haze IPA. First one on draft. My favorite of the 4 so far. I have this 5gal keg coming sometime today at my local. Picking it up tomorrow for SB Sunday. I hope I don't get tired and become Hazed & Confused trying to finish it. My last keg was Critical Band. Now that one was worth it. Lasted a month.

This one is very good. I went back for another pour and lunch. And I decided to get my own keg for the weekend. It’s in the fridgerkegerator getting cold. Should be an interesting Sunday.
