Connie and Ted's in West Hollywood has some of the best seafood in LA, and generally a pretty solid tap list.

More specifically, it's only vegetarian. (Sigh.)

I really dig Mikkeller’s tap lists, especially on $15 flight nights, but I am continually underwhelmed by their mediocre overpriced food.

Overpriced food? Yeah, that's downtown pricing after all. Mediocre? I don't know about that. The breakfast sandwich on the brunch menu is some good stuff.

Was not a big fan of their burger when I tried it, and their $8 sides were either bland or sickeningly sweet.

Last time I went with one of their $15 sausages, which was small, insanely dry, and the bun was 1/3 the size of the sausage. They were out of the chorizo sausage at noon, which was the one I wanted to get, so that didn't help either.

I ended up going next door to grab a hot chicken sando from Birdies to make up for it, which is probably just gonna be my plan every time from now on.

Brix in Sunset Beach has a solid Rueben. Taplist can be very hit or miss however. Garlic fries are a huge plus.

Haven’t been to Brix in a couple of years now. But if your ever north of LAX area check out Sorrentos for their pastrami sandwich and get back to me. Before 4pm.

David, I have driven by that place a thousand times and NEVER thought to go there for pastrami, I will now. I have been eating Pastrami at Johnnies since the 70's, the last few times I have eaten there I have left unsatisfied. BTW, the Brix in our neighborhood,( Belmont Shore) is gone, it's now Theory Cafe, they advertise that they have the worlds greatest pastrami, which if you recall was Brixs' tagline too. When I want the greatest pastrami on earth then I make the trek to Langers.

    Cheers,

I concur. Langers and Johnnies are the 2 best head to head in the City of Angels. But $4$?. Sorrento’s hot pastrami sandwich you can’t beat. And not far away is Tito’s! and Johnnie’s. Win, win. Win.

Saturday's I'm-watching-basketball-and-kinda-drunk HOT TAKE: Oinkster's pastrami might be better than their burger(s).

We usually grab at least a half dozen combo burritos from Tito's, they freeze really well.

What? And skip lunch? These are hard to come by here. Lunch is better than no lunch.
