I am leaving next Friday for a week long family vacation in Ocean City, MD. I am going to be on the hunt for 120 and WWS. Am I going to have a hard time finding them? How far off the beaten path do I have to go? I plan on making a trip up to the DFH pub for lunch so I am looking forward to that. I'm coming down from Cleveland, what local stuff should I be looking for that I can't here in Ohio.

    Thanks!

Evolution brewing is a great local brewery and DuClaw as well. If your going to rehoboth you should have no trouble finding 120 or WWS.

When going to Rehoboth I am only going to the brewery, I won't be able to get away and search stuff out. It is mainly a family vacation. The fam is going to drop me off at the pub while they go outlet shopping.

If you are going to the brewery you will definitely find 120 and WWS. You can buy pretty much all of their beers at the brewery but some are only available if you buy a case. There is a pretty huge liquor store called Atlantic Liquors on the way to and back from the brewery if you look it up online. They have a great selection and best of all its all tax free! As mentioned before DuClaw is an outstanding brewery you should definitely look for. You should also look for any Stillwater beers and of course you can find a wealth of flying dog beers!

Are you going to their brewery, or brewpub, a bit different, what day are you going, I think they break out the Randall on Mondays and Fridays and that is always fun to try. Atlantic locators is not far from there on rt. 1 and you will be able to find any DE beer you want. While in Ocean City there is a new brewery called Burley Oak that has been getting great reviews, they are in Berlin which is close to OC. Evolution is now in Salisbury which is on your way to OC, you should try to hit them up if you can.

Dan, I just finished up our yearly week in OCMD and did a lot more hunting this year. Here are a few highlights with what you'll find:

    - Liquid Assests (94th) - 2008 WWS/$10.99, 120 Minute/didn't get a price. Also they had some other bottles of interest, a few of the Lips of Faith, Full Sail Top Sail BA Porter/$6.99
    - Anthony's (33rd?) - FW Double Jack, Wookey Jack, Porter. Lips of Faith Grand Cru, Tart Lynchee, La Folie (the only overpriced one of the series at $19.99)
    - Late Night (64th ish area I think) - lots of Stillwater, more Lips of Faith series, Maui cans, etc. Nice selection.

If you get out check out Burley Oak in Berlin, only about 15 minutes from OCMD. The beer was pretty average but it's fun to try new ones and the atmosphere was really good.

45th Street Taphouse has a decent selection of locals on draft (St Michaels, Evo, Burley Oak etc) and a great outdoor seating on the bay.

If you drive up less than 10 minutes from the DFH pub to Atlantic Liquors you'll find WWS and 120 Minute also for a great price if they don't have them at the pub.

    Enjoy the vacation!

Agree, Burley Oaks is in Berlin and very close to OC. Great selection, average taste. If you can go a bit further, Salisbury is 30 miles from OC (45 min) and Evolution Brew is very good, and some are excellent! Both are near their respective down towns.
Note: Sign up well in advance for the DFH brewery tour, fills up well in advance in the summer, but you can show up to the tasting room and fill in for someone who doesn't show. They usually have a pretty good selection at the restaurant in Rehoboth too.
Re: DeClaw: didn't know there was one around here? (Salisbury/OC area). Been to the one in Belair, 120 miles from here.

There is no DuClaw in the OCMD/DE area. Maybe a few bottles show up here and there, but I don't recall seeing any in Salisbury. Definitely not in DE.

probably been said, but when you go to the brewpub you'll be able to grab 120 for real cheap, ask about their cellared collection they usually have 2-3 bottles to choose from, I got a few WWS 07 for $20 and a couple Olde School 08 for 16.

They've had aged 120 before too...I was in Reheboth last week and it seems like the only WWS stout you can find on shelves is 2010(amazing, I bought 6-7 of them)...the mall across from the brewpub with the Cultured Pearl/Starbucks has a liquor store in it that has 120/WWS for 8 a pop.

    Enjoy.

Absolutely, enjoy yourself. Brewpub is a great time...try to get there early though, its PACKED all day but when we walked by during the evening we'd have a hard time even walking by the sidewalk outside. Small place, food is solid and the 5 beer 4-5oz pour flight you can mix and match is super cheap for the beers you can pick.

Ive seen 120 on the shelf at Late Nite Beer/Liquor/Wine around 66th street, its a very small craft beer wooden rack in the middle of the store. Also I saw wws at a little beer/liquor shop place around the Ocean City / Fenwick Island border.

Another thing I didn't realize is that Firestone Walker & Lips of Faith are available in MD. Getting a four pack of 120 and WWS are going to be expensive enough but I am going to have to grab a few other things I can't get in Ohio!

For diversity, I highly recommend hitting Anthony's. Easily the best "variety" on the strip. My first time going there this year and it made me wonder why I hadn't before. Although, visiting all those places I listed and looking at them as a whole is quite a nice variety for the area.

I stumbled across Anthony's last year on our trip. My wife and mother in law wanted to stop in the Christmas store, so I walked over to Anthony's and was pleasantly surprised!

Yeah, good call. Funny as I always passed over it because the dancing Beer and Wine characters looked so corny. Stupid me!

Shit, I really wish I took my girlfriend to OC before we left Sunday now...I always stop in Liquid Assets.
    Oh well.

Nice, I'm going to be in OCMD for a long weekend this month. There's no shortage of good beer just about anywhere you travel these days.

I was just thinking will I be able to find 75 min right now? I know the first release was early spring and the next release is next month but is there any sitting around?

I did not see any sitting around anywhere. That includes at the DFH pub and Atlantic Liquors (who have a huge supply of DFH) in Rehoboth Beach. No where in OCMD, either.
