Depends on what you mean by "nearby." There are several breweries and bottleshops in Wilmington. Check Six brewing is in Southport. There's a bottleshop on Oak Island called The Grape & Ale. A couple minutes north of Oak Island (Bolivia) there's a Lowes Foods with a Beer Den that fills growlers. There's a few things in Myrtle Beach, too, but I would vote for a trip up to Wilmington instead. If you do go to Wilmington, Wilmington Brewing Company should be the top priority as far as breweries go.
Agreed with above. A trip to Wilmington or a trip to Southport will be your best bet. Wilmington offers your best options. Wilmington Brewing Company would be my choice as well for a brewery stop. Notable others are New Anthem and Flytrap. Two of my favorite places in town to just have a beer with friends are Pallete or Cape Fear Beer and Wine. There are several very good bottle shops, Hey Beer is excellent and very close to WBC, Bombers Beverage is also good and right downtown. Last but not least is Lighthouse in Wrightsville.
