headed to Oceanside in early-mid October. I might have some time to visit a local brewery or two. I'm curious if there are some recommendations. I'm a big Belgian Tripple and Quad fan, but also like a Summer Session beer if out in public. I may be trying to bring some of my Oktoberfest out for my daughter and her fiancée while out here. I'll also try to pick up a Pliny the Elder to take home while visiting. Thanks guys...
Definitely check out Bagby Beer Co. Other good spots are Urge Oceanside, Barrel Republic, and PCH bar. Eat and drink at Local Tap House, Master's, Beach Break Cafe (for breakfast), and any of the three previously mentioned spots. For bottles, Texas Liquor (expensive) and Pizza Port Bottle Shop in Carlsbad. Also hit the PP Carlsbad spot too.
Pretty comprehensive suggestions above. Tap That off of 76 usually has a solid list too with bottles for in-house or to-go consumption. If you make the trip to lost abbey you've also got Rip Current for IPAs, Churchill's Pub
If you are coastal... Bagby Beer Company Stone (Oceanside) Local Tap House, Surfside Tap Room, Flying Pig, PCH Sports Bar, Barrel Republic. Nearby Carlsbad (coastal): Barrel Republic and Pizza Port.
Oceanside Brewing Co. has 20 beers tapped and a couple are usually Belgians. But if you go try their barleywines, that's their specialty.
