I bought two and a half cases of Hipster on black Friday. Drank most of it when it was excellent. Tried one yesterday and it wasn't. Drain poured it along with the last bottles, maybe 14. I didn't want to try and "work" my way through it. Ah well.

You really dumped out 14 bottles of Hipster without even tasting them?! I know many people that would have taken the off your hands.

I tried a sip from another bottle, same thing. They really weren't good.

That blows. I still would've kept trying them, but I guess I can understand where you were at.

Drinking a Mokka now. MUCH better than the Hipster although just the slightest metallic tang to it. Definitely drinkable. Curious if this is going to be a bottle to bottle experiment...

Guys, NONE of this is infected, it has just developed different flavors. Shame on you for not drinking it sooner!!! Who would have thought of the day when a pale ale hopped with citra has a longer shelf life than a BBA imperial stout? It's a bizarro world, Jerry.

Yep, I'm done with Oddside if that's their line in the sand. They hope that we remain loyal but that's a two way street. Ridiculous.

Had a hipster the other day and was definitely soured. Had it in a fridge the whole time too.

Cracked a Hazels and that one wasn't tasting right either though not as progressed as the Hipster.

Yup. I drank a Hazel's yesterday and found the same thing. It wasn't as far gone as Hipster but it is going.

Drank my last Hipster last night and it was quite tart, bordering on sour. I had it stored in the fridge as I always do with coffee beers.

Wasn't quite a drain pour, but definitely a shell of its former self. Now to drink my last couple BBIMMs for science and my last few Hazel's before they suffer the same fate.

Thanks for the heads up on Hazel's Chris. I mean, I figured it's only a matter of time before that gets sour as well since I believe it's all the same base beer. Mine have all been in a 49° beer fridge since the release, and other than my Hazel's, all the OddSide stuff is very tart. Huge disappointment, but happy I'm only sitting on a handful of bottles now.
Between OddSide, Bourbon County, and White Flame's Black Flame, this year has definitely left a bad taste in my mouth (and everybody else's).

Is it possible for a brewery calculate how much business they may lose versus the costs associated with refunds/replacements or some other form of goodwill?

Sounds like a pretty rock solid disclaimer to me :flushed:

I don't see myself spending money on Oddsides beer until they can prove they have quality control. Very disappointed customer.

Just thoroughly enjoyed two Mokkas. Taste has evolved a bit since fresh but no tartness noted whatsoever. (Cellar temp since purchase, no refrigeration.). I suspect there may be variations from batch to batch, as has been suggested repeatedly through this thread.

So, we want a brewery to guarantee the taste of one-off beers (different barrels, year of crops, Etc every time) brewed a year and a half ago, and, bottled four months ago, which, tasted "normal" when bottled?
Doesn't that open up Pandora's box?!?

Lets pretend for a second that these beers are infected and not just changing due to extended aging - how long should a brewery stand by their product quality after bottles are purchased? Are consumers allowed to be upset if bottles purchased 4 months ago go bad, even though they were stored in a fridge? 3 months? 2 months?
