One of my favorite beers, if not my favorite. I always stock up.

I read a while back that Mountain Standard was getting the axe as the 'Fall 4-pack Seasonal', however I've seen prototypes of cans since then. Love me some Mountain Standard.

The only trendy style I really ever cared for (BIPA/CDA/etc.) seems to be dying.
Hopefully the silver lining is that Gose will go the way of the dodo in a few years, too.

It looks like odell still has them on their release calendar in Nov/Dec but it is shown as a can. I hope they don't do away with this because, as others have noted, it is one of my favorite BIPAs.

I recently had Grand Teton's BIPA at freshcraft which was really good. What are some other locally available BIPAs I should be looking out for? Thanks!

Comrade's Putsch and Engine Oil, TRVE Tunnel of Trees, Wit's End's SuperFLipa, and Call to Arms First Waltz are all good. They're also the only ones that come to mind. Some are on right now, others might not be. Mountain Sun's Dropkick Stout would probably make most BIPA fans happy, too.

It will be coming out soon (Nov.) in Cans and the ABV is going to be brought down right around 8%

Mountain Standard typically comes out around Daylight Savings to tie it into the name (Mountain Standard Time).

Well... Let me be the first to note how much better it was last year :grinning:

Here is the reply from Odell:

We are releasing Mountain Standard on November 4, in Fort Collins. It will start to hit all other markets following that date. We are excited to have it available in 6-pack cans this year!

    Cheers!

Literally everything I've tried from their canning line has been the best format available for each particular beer. No joke.

Love this beer and now I'm finally in CO. Looking forward to the cans and I dig the lower ABV as long as the delicious flavor remains intact.

On a slightly different note, did Odell confirm they are releasing Russian Pirate in single 12oz. bottles later this Fall?

It's called 'Jolly Russian' now and it was released about 2 weeks ago.... Unlike Mountain Standard, its better this year than last :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for that. I was wondering what the difference between the two were. Are they single 12oz. bottles?

Never mind. Just saw on the Odell website they are 12oz. bottles. I'll have to track down a few bottles.

Not sure if this was a mistake, but my local store had those 12oz Jolly Russian bottles priced at $10 each. Seemed a little steep compared to what I expected, although it's in-line with Avery's BA big beer pricing.

Had a Jolly Russian last night. I was impressed went well with the cool weather. The rum barrel gave it a different flavor than most the other BA RIS out there.
