    That's hard to believe since most BMC beers use hop extract that eliminates the particulate that's effected by ultraviolet light and causes skunking.

    2 things... either really strong piney hops or light tasting piney hops in beers that really shouldn't have this kind of taste. And it's always the ONLY thing I can taste. I can understand when I get this in a beer that features really high IBUs but I often get this taste in low IBU beers as well. When I drink a stout and porter is usually when I taste this problem in beer. But have also encountered it in Barleywines too.

    But I wonder how long they've been using that stuff. I go waaaay back with my beer-drinking career. :wink:

    Me too, but about the only U.S. beers I can remember being "skunked" (back in the late 70s and early 80s) were some Miller High Life in the clear bottle or Heileman Special Export in the green bottle. That is not to say there weren't other off/odd/bad characters going on...
