They had a limited menu when they let us in last year if I recall correctly. Mostly..... pizza?
Hate to break the news that you and The Mayor are wrong, but you are:
Edit: looks like The Mayor mentioned that it was allowed a few posts ago, so I didn't "break the news", but here it is in writing from Dark Horse.
Don't mind being wrong on occasion. Good information.
I honestly didn't want to say anything as I would prefer they didn't allow it, but once everyone argued about it for a full page I figured that at least everyone should know the right answer.
Well that is a welcome change from last year. I do believe I was clear that all this information was based on last year
I'm not even sure I care to bottle share in line. Last year I had a couple beers in the pub while we waited until 3 pm and there was only 20 minutes in between drinking in the pub and drinking in the facility. Once you get in the facility and wait in line for bottles, everybody is cool with you getting out of line to get something on draft and bringing it back to your spot in line.
I am with you. So much good beer at the event. Rather would wait to consume all of it versus filling up/getting drink on other stuff first.
havent been there in a couple years, how big is the garTen? Can it hold a few hundred?
Once inside the event, is a line even necessary this year? Dark Horse has said that they will be checking token numbers once you are up at the front. I would much rather be hanging out at the tables and enjoying the event now that I know I won't have to be waiting for the beer.
Yes, I understand that is what we did last year, but last year it was all self regulated. This year, Dark Horse has said that they will be checking token numbers. My question would be as to why would everybody have to stand in line? Why not just enjoy the party and then when your number is close, get into line?
Can't wait to enjoy some great DH brews with all of you These events are so much fun , its a great time to spend some quality time with my dad and beer buddies. Looking forward to seeing familiar faces and making new friends
Has anybody had 2011 BBP5T recently? How is it holding up compared to fresh? I'm all out of bottles so I may pick up a 4-pack if I can at 4 Elf. Is it better with some time on it?
Still tastes amazing. Had one a few weeks ago. Hasn't seemed to change much IMHO.
Wasnt going to say the same thing as Cam, it's drinking wonderfully right now. I have one bottle left for consumption and quite a few in the cellar. I'm looking forward to the party this year guys.
I personally think 2011 BA Plead has fallen off drastically. I've shared multiple bottles with various BAs and tried some of theirs and think it is a shell of its former awesomeness. Just my personal opinion.
what was wrong with it?
in honor of this I will bring some bottles to share with you as a peace offering. I'm sure if we met in person we would get along great. Are you cool with that?
Out of the case and a half I've drank in the last year and many samples from tap in between to compare, I've only had 1-2 sub-par bottles of BA Pt5 that tasted too much like ethanol (boozy rocket fuel).
I think it's still delicious and imperial stouts are not something I typically drink on my own.
Under appreciated style!
As it states in your post, you can hang out in the beer garten or TAP ROOM once you have received you token.
Is this from facebook? I looked through all the posts and could not find this, is it from last year, maybe?
It looks like twitter
Thanks, I am not on either, so I don't always recognize them. I just use my girl's account when I want to find something.
Facebook I believe... the "like" tab/button would be the indicator. Plus the color scheme is very much like the mobile app I use.
It's from the event the created on FB. Not a post on their wall.
Nothing wrong with it, just not as good when it was fresh.
Yep, given the attitude of some people in this thread, despite my fond love of many of you, I will be taking my business to the Livery that day, as this event will end up all gintered. Perhaps I I will see some of you at Eccentric Day Friday.
hope it wasn't me man. I always try and be positive. I'm still waiting for kzoobrew to respond to my peace offering...
From Urban Dictionary:
1.Ginter - A Very Intelligent and Obtimistis person.
Wow, that kid is like Ginter.
2.ginter - to have sex with a goat, specifically oral sex. Named after the dubious journalistic skills of KOMO Seattle's Marlee Ginter.
John went over to his uncle's goat farm last weekend for a gintering marathon and came back with oral goat herpes.
3.ginter - The process of being screwed, usually in an unexpected fashion.
Oh snap! Eddie got gintered out of winning the fantasy baseball league.
Yeah, if I was to summarize your disposition, it would be the antipode of positive.
not positive enough for you?
Yes, cutting and pasting previous responses to prove you are nice is usually what nice people naturally have to do.
Much like Decadance, I am more than likely taking my Eccentric day hang over to The Livery rather than Dark Horse that day. I tend to be around the area frequently, I am sure we will have a chance to share a beer and hash out any differences we may have.
alright man too bad though! the least you can do is help support their business for providing you with a world class beer! I guess you can argue that your only obligation is to pay them what they ask for the beer but I personally feel like I want to spend my cash at dark horse to help support their business! I hope you two will come around but if not I'm sure Dark Horse will have plenty of generous nice kind people there to support them. No need to bring in negative vibes!
Cheers man hope you have a Great day that day!!
Todd and Kevin....I am sure I will be getting enough beer for the three of us! I will get you anything you may want from Dark Horse. The party just won't be the same with you guys!
I do love Dark Horse and support them through out the year. The day prior is one of my favorite beer events of the year and the next day will be rough. Both Todd and I have personal friends at The Livery, a low key environment sharing good beer with friends is a bit more inviting that a huge crowd, even if that crowd includes a large amount of friends. I have more of an obligation to my good friends than I do to Dark Horse, no matter how much I respect them.
I appreciate it Shawn. Any extras you wind up with I would be glad to either compensate you for or match for a tasting with the Kzoo crew. Cheers my man!
What he said (and yeah, I am Todd).
I'm not sure why people would want to hang out in the garten in 20 degree weather when you don't have to. It was pretty damn cold last year and everyone was pretty stoked when they opened the taproom. You guys can hang out there, I'll be warm inside, sharing some great DH beers with out BAs.
