The previous venue was not a possibility.

Interest in the event has increased exponentially yearly.

Furthermore, it's not fair to anyone to make volunteers have to "Judge" when a 5 Gal keg needs to be pulled off. It had definitely hurt the evening session more than once due to kegs being left on too long.

There is no "fix".. just "grow". It wasn't possible to leave it as it was.

If anything, people should be happy. The evening session is no longer effected by these keg size issues. They get the slate wiped clean and a fair shot at all the beers.

Can someone tell me what the carry-on limitations are? Can we bring in a backpack food, water, tradeable beer?

You sure about that? I emailed them and they say I had to contact BPT directly to change the name on the ticket, this was Friday, and I am waiting for a reply after I asked them to change the name.

    Yep. Totally sure

    Hello,

Thank you for contacting Brown Paper Tickets! You are okay to give your ticket to someone else - the name on the ticket does not need to match the attendee's, so as long as they bring the ticket with them, they'll be fine.

Please let me know if i can be of further assistance.

    Thanks!

This is what BPT told me repeatedly for Bolt Cutter until Founders came out with an email stating I had to change it on the back end. Just an FYI.

I would be a bit hesitant to buy or trade tickets because of this. It is one thing for the ticketing agency to tell you something about how the event organizers will handle tickets, and how the event organizers actually choose to carry out the ticket could be entirely different.

An official statement by the FOBAB organizers would be a serious consideration.

Anything official would probably show up here: http://www.illinoisbeer.com/fobab/
I think last year the only preview we got was through word of mouth (ie people contacting breweries and posting whatever info they could find in the FOBAB thread), although they may have released at least a brewery list a few days before the event (memory is foggy). It's kind of exiting to be surprised though, and looking over the lineup when they finally hand you the "menu" is great.

Question for you vets. We get a certain amount of tasting tickets but my question is how much are the samples? 2 tickets or 3 tickets for some? Or is it all 2 or 1 ticket?
