What is your theoretical tasting list if it's there?

 

Still looking for a ticket to any session if anyone needs to get rid of one last minute!

 

As previously mentioned , Malort bcbs.

 

Honky Tonk bbq is good eats the is also maria's and simones and wings and rings on Halsted. I dont think marias has foodcjust a small craft beer bar but after FOBAB I dont think ill be needing any more beer but we will see. Also a decent maxwell street joint on 31st thats 24/7.

They clarified that the variations are barrel variations rather than adjuncts - maybe some PVW?

 

This PVW talk is getting out of control. I'm positive 90% of us BA's couldn't pick 20 year Pappy out of a 5 18-21 year bourbon line up, let alone pick up the barrel character on a beer aged in such barrels.

 

Stoked for King Henry. Time to use all my tasting tickets on those and fill a growler with it!

 

Pretty sure it's similar to the GTMW "Blending Sessions".. barrels that had distinct flavors.

Though, I'm not certain of that. I had just heard that from several people that the blending stuff may be happening again at FoBAB.

Somehow I doubt that. It's probably normal MR from the looks of their lineup.

 

I'm 100% sure you made up that statistic.

Psssssssssst. Kentucky Bourbon Barrel Ale took second at Beer Hptacular last week. I hope it's there.

 

Wasn't first place 5 lizard (which is great, but first place amongst everything else)I don't think the hoptacular is home of the most ardent beer judges.

 

Either was FoBab 2011 (not meant to dis anyone, honest).

 

Yes, 5 Lizard was 1st, and great, but not a barrel aged beer. I never heard a complaint about the judges.

 

I'm a BJCP judge and have judged with those judges and all of them know their stuff. Sometimes they are so close it's really a toss up but someone has to win.
