$6 would be awesome, and I wouldn't be mad at $8

Thanks for the memo Matt. I shall now pass on Saucer for Big Hops. LOL!

    I'm leaning towards $8 for a 10oz snifter.

I just got 2 bottles there, but they're price gouging. $9.20 for 2 BWBs.

I apologies ahead of time for this, but I need to vent some frustration. Let me start off by saying I'm all for supporting your local mom and pop shops, even if they are a couple dollars more, but I'm kind of pissed at the Shell Station right now.

They recently had FBS for sale as singles instead of 4pks, when they were first distributed to Houston. They were charging $4.25 per single beer, which is about double what you would pay at Spec's. Yesterday they had BwB for sale as singles for $5.50 per beer. Once again this is almost double what you would pay at Spec's. I'm sorry, but if they continue these actions I won't be spending much money at the Shell Station anymore. I really like Charles and everything they are doing in the Clear Lake area, but this is ridiculous.

I wholeheartedly agree. If I see that John at Bay Area Specs has the beer I want, I usually go there instead. I love supporting local business just as much as the next guy, but it is a little steep at the Shell.

Yeah, some of you guys are getting taken advantage of, for the sake of "new beers." I think I paid $12 for a 4 pack of BwB, which was pretty much the maximum I was willing to pay. For being a seasonal and not a one-off, those prices on single bottles are jacked.

Not good at all... If I recall correctly 6pk of FBS was $10 and 4pk of BwB was $12 at Specs.

I dont know if this helps or not but I spoke with John at Bay Area Specs today at lunch about BwB. He only got a little bit (2 cases i think) and he tried to sell it as singles for $5 per beer but the system would not let him so he had to sell it as 4pks.

I did pick up the last 6xer of Porter and a 6xer Community Mosaic. The shelves at Bay Area are really looking good these days. Tons of great stuff to choose from!

I have felt the same for a while... and the prices seem to keep creeping up even more every time I'm in there. I don't think I've bought anything at the Shell Station in the past 6 months thanks to Spec's on Bay Area.

Any sightings of BwBs in ATX?

I'm always willing to pay a premium for a single bottle/can from a pack, since I don't drink enough at home to justify multiples of most things. But I didn't even notice the price on Backwoods when I bought a single at Growlers yesterday -- I bought it along with 5 other single cans/bottles. Just went back to my receipt to confirm the $4.25. Ouch.

That's still only about $8.50 for a bomber, which I'm pretty sure most people would consider a good price for a BA Scotch ale.

it's cheaper than a lot of inferior beers per ounce, but still quite a premium over the suggested retail price of a 4 pack. it's done solely to mark the beer up.

I mostly have my wife swing by the Shell Station when I'm stuck offshore. It is probably the only store I can convince her to stop at for me. When I'm home I practically never go in there. I still frequent Nobi Pub, but not the Shell Station. I guess I'll only send her there for bombers from now on, and only as a last effort.

Yeah, fuck that place. If they want to sell singles, cool. But don't mark them up. I'd call them out on it or just find another place to buy beer.

dammit, I was super excited to try KBS, but now your post (along with another post about "whales" being dominated with letdown after letdown dealing with KBS) I'm not so sure anymore.

I love KBS, but I'd probably not travel 60 miles round trip for it either unless I knew I could get 2-3 pours. Especially when I have bottles at home.
