I wanted to clear up some confusion regarding this day, answer a few questions, address some concerns and in general let everybody know the scoop before they show up.

The official plans for Friday at Peg's Cantina are as follows.

We will do 2 different tappings of barrel aged beers, the first will be at noon and for those who are already aware of the secret release at noon, see you then, for the rest you can show up and be surprised or hear about it later. Officially we are simply tapping barrel aged beers, unofficially there may be something else.
    The High Noon Tapping
We are not expecting a huge crowd so we will simply open the doors and welcome everybody to the bar. There will be no tickets or guarantees of anything, including this tap list which is subject to change (not drastically though) and it is simply first come first served. Anything tapped at noon will also be tapped at 7 so if for some crazy reason we run out of something before you got to try it, there will be more later.
The tap list will likely include some surprises during the day, but the BA stuff will be:
    RareR DOS
    Rare DOS
    Batch 100
    BA iPorter
We will also have guest taps, quite possibly some Rainbow Jelly Donut or Full On Double Rainbow Jelly Donut All The Way Across The Sky, who knows.
Should a large crowd form, we will adapt with some sort of line that gives first come first served priority as best we can.

    The 7 O'Clock Tapping
This is the main event, we are expecting a crowd, we do have a plan.
In order to accommodate everyone while still running a restaurant on a friday night we are going to use a ticket system for beers.

-There will be a 2 ticket limit per person and these guarantee a barrel aged beer, they do NOT guarantee any specific beer, those will still go on a first come first served basis.

-We will not be handing out tickets until 6 pm, and this is when we would expect a line to form if there is going to be one. People with reservations will have to get in line like everybody else for barrel aged beers, their table will still be waiting for them but having a reservation does not give priority in the barrel aged beer line, only a place to sit and eat after you get your beer.

-To be extra clear, the ONLY way to get barrel aged beer Friday night is to go through the dedicated barrel aged bar service area, this could mean standing in line, we feel that these beers are worth it.

-BARREL AGED POURS WILL BE CASH ONLY! EVEN IF YOU HAVE A TAB RUNNING!
It will be extremely difficult to keep track of tabs and running cards will make things simply too slow. We apologize for the inconvenience, there is an ATM on site (very close to where the line will form.) If you prefer to simply relax at a table, our servers would be happy to bring you any other beer from the list but barrel aged beers will NOT have table service.

To BrewBus riders: You will get your tickets for beers on the bus (these WILL count as paid for) but the line system applies to you as well. You get a growler of batch 100 that nobody else can ever get, if thats not enough compensation for not being able to be possibly first in line, my apologies. Please contact Peg's to voice your complaint, we are not trying to be unfair and would like the opportunity to discuss and make amends.
    The List:
    RareR DOS
    Rare DOS
    Batch 100
    BA iPorter
    Funky DOS

    The Other Stuff

Tickets and Redeeming them: The tickets guarantee a barrel aged beer, not a specific one. In order to try to spread the love on the beers we are going to insist that if redeeming both tickets at once you select 2 different beers rather than 2 of the same.

Parking: There is street parking, there is a parking lot down by the beach, Gulfport routinely hosts street festivals that close down the main street parking area and cater to over a thousand people, parking should not be terribly difficult.

Sidewalk Drinking: This is illegal in Gulfport, our property is clearly marked by a fence, the line will be forming on our property and we should have enough space however if the line extends to the sidewalk you must be aware that you will be subject to ticketing with an open container.

Credit Cards: As previously stated the barrel aged beers will be CASH ONLY, however if you are dining we do offer a method for credit card payment. Cash is still greatly preferred and we do offer a discount on food when paying with cash.

Food: We will have our complete menu but please be aware that we are designed as a 74 seat restaurant, your server will try to advise on wait times but we ask for everybody to please be patient our kitchen will be maxed out and we will be doing our very best to accommodate everybody. Chips and Salsa are very quick if you are looking for a snack.

Tables: Please be respectful of others waiting for tables, offer to share, 99% of the people will be there for the beer, make some friends, they probably wont bite. That said we do have reservations, these tables will be marked starting at noon (even for the evening reservations) and you will be politely asked to move if the reservation time is approaching. When selecting a table just keep in mind that there is an end time to your hold on that table if a reservation tag is on it. People with reservations: PLEASE be prompt, we cannot hold a table empty for more than 5-10 minutes past your reservation time.

Bottle Sharing: Bring it on! Our servers will still be working hard, if you find it in your heart to share a sample of something tasty with the staff we certainly appreciate it but there is no corking fee.

Water: If there develops a large demand for water (very likely) we will put out water stations for patrons to help themselves. Water is extremely taxing from a service stand point and in this case it seems better for people to have unlimited self directed access to water rather than cold food and hot beer.

PS the name RareR DOS was conceived over some beers with Cam, he can have the credit if he remembers it well because I honestly don't, the bottom line is I came up with the extra R standing for rum after the name had been proposed. Furthermore the whole "Rare" thing is meant in jest, and actually came from Ethan at CCB giving a tour and when showing the barrels described with the naivety of a 20 yr old brewery employee "this is where it gets that rare taste." Whatever rare tastes like, I think its delicious.

Is the 7pm event expected to be a madhouse? I'm coming down from Philadelphia for Spring Training/Cigar City event that weekend and was thinking about stopping at Peg's on Friday. If it's too many hoops to jump through to get a beer (or possibly get none) should I even bother coming down to Peg's and just hang out at Cigar City Friday night?

I still plan on visiting Peg's while I'm in Florida, but I was intrigued by the draft list at this event

Pardon me for being an idiot but,

All of these beers, are draft only. There are no bottles to be sold, growlers to be filled, draft beer in a glass that you can enjoy the hell of while your their but cant take home to enjoy later, correct?

Guess I forgot a couple things.
Growlers: We are currently unable to sell growlers, our state license prohibits it. We also do not have (and cannot produce) even close to the amount of beer we would need to fill growlers, which is the reason we have the license we do. It is possible this will change, and could be the reason for using terms like official in the original post, but regardless production, especially of barrel aged beers, will be far too low for growlers.

Hand Bottling: Friends don't let friends destroy brewery reputations with crappy bottle fills from snifters. You make the naughty list if we catch you.

This is going to be a fun time, we have been prepping (read drinking) the beers making sure everything is up to our standards, I don't think anybody will be disappointed with the beer. The reason for all the info is to try to be as fair as possible and give people some kind of expectation, not to make it sound like a rigid event. Anybody who has been to Peg's knows our atmosphere is laid back, so come out have a beer and enjoy what should be a fantastic Florida spring day and night.
