This will not happen I believe. I'm not against it, but see my earlier post regarding FW distro. I suspect this is only temporary since DFW is a hot spot for every brewer in the US (more important is the relative untapped triangle of DFW-H-Austin).

When you combine 10 million+ people with a vibrant craft scene in every city this (being limited, hard to impossible to find releases) will be the norm. Instead of seeing it as a negative I'm trying (truthfully I am) to see it as the icing on the cake. As long as Houstonites line up across streets for SABC BB beers this is going to be crazy hard to find elsewhere and I'm happy with it. There are plenty of cool BA from 713 who share

Yeah, I understand what your saying, Ive seen post by freetail selling it as a take home(though I understand the sales of this from st arnold were not intended for that), I was just wondering if there was any place willing to sell a sealed bottle. I dont know TX laws enough to know which bars would technically legally be able todo so, just curious cause Id love to get a bottle to age.

I believe it was already stated that bars that don't sell liquor can sell sealed bottles to go, if they so choose.

Bottles are available at HomeField. Unknown whether or not they are or will be at Flix.

From what I heard only four places got it, and I was at Lukes when they sold out of their case. So it had to be either Major League Grill, Madisons or Wine Styles... Thats a rip off. Try and let me know which one it was so I don't waste my time going there.

Paid $15 at Major League Grill. They had a case on display being kept cold. They said they were saving it for the weekend but would sell to us. I should have asked how bad they were going to inflate the price. Getting served at 34 degrees in a frosted glass should have told me things weren't going to go well.

Not sure what others thought of BB1 but I was thoroughly disappointed in it even before I knew I was paying $15.

Some perspective for us all to keep in mind: BCBS typically goes for approximately 5,99 - 6,99 a bottle, and that's coming from a brewery with a world renowned barreling program. Call me crazy, but you wouldn't see me rushing to pay 10$+ for a BA beer from a brewery with a infant barrel program.

It's just unfortunate that there's some really shitty business owners out there that are taking advantage of the SA hype train; places that are doing that really should be noted and blacklisted. I'll keep supporting SA, but those place won't see my business.

How much, exactly, is that mark-up? What are retailers paying for this, per bottle? I'd be interested in knowing

Very well put Funk. I would be all for blacklisting but will SA honestly blacklist the Saucer for charging $10/bottle? Goes back to that old saying, a fool and his money are soon parted.

I can see paying up to $8/bottle for 12oz bottle at a bar. But, when places really start to stick the screws to ya hit the $10+ area then, that's just bs.

Edit...Azzy knows what it cost per case, he is not saying though, it would be interesting to see the mark up.

Not the brewery, the consumers. 8$ seems about max I would pay for a bottle of BA beer at a bar, as you shouldn't see price much higher than that for a draft pour, unless it's something that's been sitting in a keg for a number of years, and even then the barrel should have faded enough to where one would feel a bit ripped off.

Misunderstood ya and I agree. $8 is a reasonable price for 12oz bottle. I know the Saucer charges upwards of $30/bottle for some of DFH's 750ml releases.

You won't see me paying that much for a DFH beer anywhere. They're good, but not that good.

    I don't pay the $15 for it at Spec's or D&Q.
