I'm your Huckleberry...how much BB1 are you looking for?
I got 1 extra BB2 if anyone in Houston wants to go 1:1 for a BB1. Never got to try it.
Really enjoyed it. Let it warm up and experience the Chardonnay.
Just got back into town... any ideas on places that still have it to go?
WF Lakewood in Dallas did not get any. Didn't check with the other stores.
Tried BB2 last night and am glad I didn't stockpile bottles. Not sure if was intended to be soured or not, but didn't think it was true to the old ale style. No big, rich maltiness. Instead, dry, tart, cherry, apple, cidery lightness. Not my bag, baby.
Yes, intended to be slightly tart. Your taste profile hit the nail on the head.
I do agree and while I didn't particularly have an issue with the sourness, I was more expecting to see a blend of a rich old ale along with all those characteristics. Was looking for something heavier. Shame that it didn't quite work out.
Anybody read Wednesday's Chronicle article on BB2?
Looks like DR4 recipe has been aging in Old Forester bourbon barrels since January. Beer's a Scotch ale.
Damn, I never heard about that. This has me very interested
try this link for starters:
Will trade a bottle of BB2 for one BB1.
Just BM'd you.
I'm looking to snag a bottle or 2 of BB2 if anyone has any extra... Have a few BB1's, a couple of DR's and some Pumpkinator if anyone is interested.
Yes, I saw that. Not clear though if any of those places still have any.
In Austin? I can do a 2 for a 1 (or 2 2's for 2 1's)
That being said, I'll wait for a reply but if anyone is looking to move a BB1 for a BB2, hit me up. Local Austin Area
Brews brothers in Galveston is putting bb2 out at noon tomorrow (saturday), one per person.
A bit offtopic here but does anyone know if the dates on the St. Arnold's bottles are the bottled on day or best by date? Really hoping it's the former... lol
Sure it's the brewed on date
That makes the Envevour I picked up today a week old or so, nice
Where did you find fresh Endeavour? DO WANT.
HEB on Mcneil and Parmer, bottled on 2/13/13, get it while it's hot!
Just confirming past DR bottles, my bottle of DR 5 & 6 obtained from TJModica were both great and the 5 was a star. Just an amazing brew..thank goodness for truly great regional BA's. he can confirm the conditions he stored them in but DAMN Gina they were tasty
HOUSTON - Cottonwood just posted on Facebook they have BB2 for sale .
I can help you out for a BB1
For onsite only because they sell liquor
Where is this at in Austin? Whip in have it to go? Someone mentioned little Woodrow's, they have it for on site only or to go as well?
I had one at Zax in Austin. Didn't ask about to-go, I had it there with lunch.
We are going to start selling it in the next week up at banger's. I snagged a few bottles down at craft pride the other day though.
looks like the craigslisters selling them now lol
I guess that is the #waitinlineformebro upcharge.
There was another one for $72 a 6 pack. That's cheaper than a lot of places charged. lol
Just wondering if anyone out there in Houston still has BB1's and looking to trade for BB2's
Had bb2 at fox and hound woodlands area got one to go too
There probably sold out by now
I was able to have one at Lil Woodrows Heights yesterday. They still had two or three bottles left in the cooler.. also thanks to a couple of great people, I ended up with two bottles of BB2 at the house...
so if anyone wants to trade one a BB2 for a BB1 in Houston, I'd be happy to help you out. I'd like to age a BB1 for a while.
The taste is really good. It is very interesting and different. I didn't notice anything funky.. but you certainly get the chardonnay barrel in there. Lots of cherry smell, but not near as much in the taste. I think this might be interesting to age a few months also...
I sipped a BB2 last night. I thought it was a little much. The cherries and the barrel notes started getting a rather medicinal character, very much like Tussin.
