Official The Alchemist's Second Brewery Thread

For the record, The Alchemist filed their Act 250 land use permit application today. No agenda date is set yet but there will be more info soon. Steady as she goes...

 

I will come.

 

Here's the current status (been quiet for awhile, I know): the application is submitted, as of Aug. 13, 2014. A couple of additional docs were added upon request a week later. We are still waiting for a hearing date on a regular meeting agenda, if needed. That's the official scoop.

Does anybody know where I could purchase some heady topper around rhode Island or mass? I am trying to save a trip up to VT. Thanks

 

At this time it is not legally sold in either state, only VT.

 

Yeah thats what i figured and the brewery is closed. So in order to get my hands on it i would have to drive to a local VT store and have the possibility of them not having it? Maybe I could reserve a few cases? Does anybody have some willing to sell or trade around the new england area?

 

Look in the sub-forum for beer trading on this website to trade for beer. It is against forum rules to sell beer (and against federal law) so I would suggest you do not talk further of that. No one will reserve "cases" for you let alone a few four packs. I suggest looking at the alchemists website or headspotter.com for details of what stores get deliveries and when. The area in Vermont is a great place to visit with lots of great local beer and restaurants. Make a trip out of the hunt, best of luck.

 

must really want Heady Topper, first post since you joined a year ago- good stuff, don't blame you.

 

Hope the state doesn't lose paperwork and miss deadlines for no reason and they have to start over like i've seen done in the past.

Unofficial word (not updated yet on the state database) is that the District 5 Act 250 hearing is now set for Sept. 23rd.

 

It's official. Per the Vermont state database, the Act 250 District 5 Environmental Commission hearing for The Alchemist's new site in Stowe is scheduled for next week, Sept. 23rd at 6:30 pm.

 

Any word on a truck sale happening any time in the near future? They've had one every month since February, besides June. I think it's been about six weeks now since the last one. Maybe they're too tied up with all of the business for the new site but otherwise, there should be a sale happening soon.

 

The District 5 Act 250 hearing for The Alchemist's proposed new brewery was held last night in Stowe. A site visit was made to the Cottage Club Road site and then the commission's public hearing convened at the nearby Stoweflake Resort. The proceedings went very well. A written decision will be issued, and after a 30 day appeal period has passed, construction of the new production and retail facility will be permitted.

 

So has the decision been made already in favor? That's great news.
