Last I heard there was no ETA on the bottling/release date for this.

This was posted just yesterday in our Facebook group, so unless something went absolutely horrible since then . . .

He's not trolling. Someone in our FB group posted that she is there now and heard it from the bartender.

No, I don't troll. Ever. Just heard some bad news and hoping it's not true.

@funkybuddha would be the best person to comment, I'd think.

I reached out to Funky Buddha. I asked if there was truth to the rumors of the batch having to be dumped. Here is there response:

"No, that's not correct - we've just put it on hold for the moment. Thank you"

On hold for the moment? Vague answer is vague.

    Hopefully it all works out.

That is a very vaugue and strange response. It still needs time in the barrels, okay I get that. We found some unwanted organisms in our bottling line, okay I get that. On hold, okay why? There has to be some reason, what is it?

There is nothing inherently wrong with having issues like they have had. CCB had a bunch of infection issues in 2010-2011 with Bolita, Maduro, and Oatmeal Raisin Cookie (back when it was in bottles, man I miss those). And after time they got everything back in line. Point is, growing breweries often have to face these types of issues FB is not alone in this. Just the vauguness is odd at this point.

ah sweet, sweet rumors and the interesting stories that come from them!

The origin of Last Buffalo is this. One of our awesome accounts, Park Tavern, came across some Buffalo Trace barrels. They gave them to us and we happened to have Snowed In (which is the Imperial Last Snow) in the tanks. So we aged a small amount on these two barrels. Last (Snow) Buffalo (Trace) in the Park (Tavern). What came from this was a few kegs. Some we poured at maple bacon day, some was sent to Extreme Beerfest and some was saved for other random events. Unfortunately, as happy as we were with this beer, there wasn't much to go around.

As for the whole bottling issue, we are being extremely careful about what we do and do not put in bottles. We've beefed up our lab and hired one of the best QA/QC consultants in the country. None of this guarantees we won't have problems, but it certainly minimizes it. We aren't completely there yet, so we are hesitant. As a growing business that is only being held back by the amount of tanks, kegs and staff we have, the money that bottle releases can bring in would certainly help. What won't help us or you, is releasing another Muy Fart Bonita. Ironically, I had a few last night at a party and they probably the best I've ever tasted.

I want to release Snowed In, Rum Barreled Pina Colada and Morning Wood and many others planned more than any of you can imagine, but I won't do it at the risk of some of you not getting exactly what you paid for. At least putting every resource we can into putting our best foot forward.

Got to love when brewers are open about what's produced, how it's done, etc. Thanks for the low down @funkybuddha

Now @floridadrift get me some bottles!!

Thanks for the response. Very cool of you to reach out to your fans and loyal customers with a reply to our concerns. The only issue I have with Funky Buddha is the announcement of beers with a release date and no follow through. Undefeated Sasion, BA Snowed in, & More Moro 12 oz. It's great that you guys are growing. I love being able to pick up Hop Gun & Floridian at Publix. However it seems like you guys are becoming the fancy politician of the beer world. Promising us great new changes and how your are going to fix things to get us back on track. Yet dates come and go. Hell, I think BA has had 3 dates that have come and gone. I completely agree with not wanting to release another "Muy Fart Bonita" ( very funny btw) but dangling carrots of beer just out of reach isn't cool either. BA Snowed In could have been TBA and More Moro could have been Spring, I know undefeated was canned because of the difficulty of corking & caging. Still no announcement about that though. All in all I just wish for better communication with your fans. Don't set dates you can't keep. And keep making some kick ass brews. /rant

speaking of more moro, has the new batch tasted off to anyone? I LOVED more moro but I had it just recently at Brass Tap Pines and a crowler from Mendez and thought it tasted awful.
