How would you prevent it from being transferred? How would it prevent people from all going to Assassin (or BAA or you choose) and draining that singular keg before most people get to try it. The benefit of a 2oz (or smaller) pour is it gets the beer into the hands of more people.

I work the BA fests and its something that gets brought up a lot. Either the host (in this case Weldwerks) is paying for all the beer OR the brewery is essentially donating the beer. So we can expect them to bring half barrels + of some of their rarest, and most expensive/time consuming to make beers? A sixtel (or equivalent) + per session is usually the going rate for high end (read rare or expensive) beer.

As a general idea, I'd love it. In practicality and by way of enforcement it's a nightmare. In addition many states (I don't know if CO applies here) if you're doing "unlimited free samples" which means you buy 1 ticket and once you're in it's all you can drink, the max pour is 2oz per pour.

Just my 2 cents, again in an ideal situation it would be great but in execution I believe it to be nearly impossible.

For sure, def just spitballing an idea. Logistically it may be tough, but I don't think it's impossible. Non-transferable because the brewery will stamp your hand when you use it so it's 1pp. As for the beer kicking, you can say the full-pour cannot be used until the 2nd hour of the fest - no full pours in the first hour to give folks a chance to go after their whales. No perfect system for anything, but it could be cool IMO (or a shit show, that's def possible too).

I have high hopes as well but I'm tempering my expectations until the fest. It could end up being a clusterfuck.

The 5oz pour thing would drain the beers with the most demand so i'm not in favor of that. I would rather have everyone get a 2oz pour than the first 100 people to rush over killing the keg with 5oz each. Most beers you will be able to get multiple pours if you want.

It's totally doable. The first few years I attended GABF they used to give you a full pour ticket/token. It's definitely been done.

Was searching for a 'things to do in Greeley' thread and didn't come across one <sarcasm disclaimer>. Hope it's ok to ask in here but looking for a bottle shop recommendation in the area. I'll have a car so hitting neighboring towns isn't an inconvenience

Fort Collins or Loveland for a beer store, Friday -> Sunday will have plenty to do in Greeley.

    Friday per Weldwerks Facebook:

LiquorMax in Loveland has a great selection. Best bet in Greeley is Gordon's.

Did anyone notice on the Porch Drinking tap list for the invitational that it says only 1 case of BAA will be a available at the fest? Better get in line early if you want that one.

yup, perfect pours would mean 150 pours, that doesn't account for other brewers getting pours, and spillage/over pours

Has anyone figured out how to actually donate to WW's charity? I can only find the Community Foundation Serving Greeley and Weld County and searching "WeldWerks Community Foundation" in Google produces next to nothing. Also, I do not see anything on WW's website and the FB post above does not have a charity link. I'm probably just being an idiot...

I think they mean they'll take donations at the event, and I'm sure if you're just trying to donate you can to the charity it is benefiting

Thanks. I assumed there was a formal donation site online, etc. No worries, I'll probably just donate directly to the Immigrant and Refugee Center of Nothern Colorado (which seems to a direct beneficiary anyway). Cheers.

I think WW Invitational will end up having the best pour list of American beers out of any fest in Colorado this year. Shelton Fest gets my (pre)vote for best overall list. You know they're bringing the fire from Belgium, come on. End-all-be-all, pshh

Speaking of which, I enjoyed multiple pours of BAA last year at The Festival ATL without a line. That surely won't be the case at WWI with only a case for both sessions.

Not worth waiting for beer at a festival like this. Unless you're in it for the conversations and high fives
