Anyone headed to the Weldwerks party this weekend? Thinking about heading up from Denver. Is it going to be a madhouse? Anything else to do up in Greeley?

Hate to be that guy but here goes. I have been able to try Weldwerks a few times and would love to get some cans. I have friends who will be in Fort Collins and agreed if I can send them to shop they will grab some. I checked the Weldwerks and see that they distribute to Fort Collins. The real question is it possible to get Weldwerks in Fort Collins or is this something that flies off the shelf and you have to chase the truck. Can anyone make a suggestion on the place that most likely would have cans so I can call and confirm its ability. Thanks for the help.

Most WW cans aren't too tough to come by. They're all over the place, but because they have so many different SKU's it might be tougher to get the exact one you want. Just about every store in Denver has at least one option.
Someone more familiar with Ft. Collins stores will be able to give you suggestions for stores, but I don't think getting some random cans will be a problem for you.

Is that gonna have raw eggs in it? Normally, you wouldn't have to ask, but with ww, you never know, lol.

Raw, pasteurized egg yolks. At a volume of one yolk per can.

I know this isn’t the place for it, as WW don’t really play with ‘normal’ or ‘traditional’ flavors too much, but how bout more straight up barley wines?

Sounds like they are BA’ing some of the best- why can’t we try that too?!
I’d also love to try their base stouts they use pre-Pastry-fying too

We do "traditional" beers every once in a while, but the harsh reality is they just don't sell. Our Vienna Lager, Puesta del Sol, won a medal at World Beer Cup. But even with that kind of hardware, it was selling too slow to keep in rotation and we ended up discontinuing it.

Our classic French Saison, Saison d'Amitie, was one of the highest rated beers in the Saison issue of CB&B (https://beerandbrewing.com/review/saison-damitie/), but of our 100+ new beers in 2018, it's in the bottom 10 for sales and the bottom 3 for rankings in our recent survey (https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/100b...UpP_TLBbn9mvhJ72bcSXYis90XljX2OJrNFAqV0GHxsYY).

So when it comes to releasing the base version of our pastry stouts, Achromatic, Medianoche, and barleywines, it would certainly be a fun educational experience for our customers, but unfortunately I already know how that story ends. Not to mention we design the bases for each of those beers specifically with adjunct or barrel-aged treatment in mind, making adjustments to bitterness, attenuation, specialty malts, etc. to complement the adjuncts or barrel. So the base beers themselves may not stand up as well on their own.

Maybe one day we'll design and release a non barrel-aged, non adjunct Imperial Stout, but given the sales trends of similar beers here in CO, I don't think that will be any day soon. But I'll never say never...

It's funny because a couples months ago someone said something like "why doesn't WW make traditional, standard beers that often?"

My response to them was simple, every other brewery is making standard, traditional beers. It's really tough to stand out when you are doing the same thing as everyone else.

I do look forward to trying the eggnog barleywine.
I hope the survey is still open, I haven't completed it yet.
    edit: done

We're keeping the survey up for a little longer, so be sure to complete it soon. We're using that data for our 2019 production scheduling and planning, so the sooner we have it, the better. Thanks in advance for the feedback!

Has Mint Achromatic ever been released before? Hoping to try on draft before bottle purchase as Mint beers seem to either be very well done, or kind of toothpastey.

No, this is a first for Weldwerks. It will be on draft for at least a week or so, I would imagine.

Makes sense and I appreciate the thoughtful reply... maybe someday keep an un-adjunct’d keg or two aside for in house comparisons- for science of course

anyone know if the Mocha milk Stout is similar to the Mochaccino Stout release around this time last year? That mochaccino stout was thick creamy tons of flavor, but also had crystal malt, and lactose sugar and was exactly the type of stout I enjoy..
