It was actually a totally different beer, built from the ground up with the crew from Brew By Numbers. Similar flavor profile, but much more sessionable without compromising the body and mouthfeel of a classic Milk Stout. We used cacao nibs in the whirlpool and cold side, so we got a lot of complexity from the cacao. And we also used Ethiopian coffee instead of our usual Peruvian, which complemented the Ghanan nibs nicely. I’d say it’s a little more of a “traditional” adjunct stout (if such a thing exists), as compared to our more over-the-top “pastry” stouts. Hope that helps!

Nope, but tickets did drop out of carts and go back into circulation and every one of my friends that tried for tickets was successful, so kudos to Weldwerks in my view.

4 out of 5 of us that tried got all 4 bottles. I think it officially sold out around the 20 minute mark. Way better than standing in line for hours on end.

I was a little curious to see if the tighter pickup window and lack of proxies made a difference, and maybe it did a little bit.

I also got mine, and strongly prefer this system for releases. Plus, I have to assume that it's much easier for them to avoid the mess of people camping out, etc.

This 100%. If any Weldwerks people track this thread, please use this system for future Medianoche releases.

Agreed with all of the above; this is definitely the system I prefer.

We all know both will end up on draft along with an insane overall lineup the whole time pick-up is going on too, so even if folks missed out on bottles, it'll still be a great time to visit Weldwerks.

This is a minute group of people here that were successful. The butthurt and complaint levels on FB is crazy.

    From WeldWerks:

UPDATE: ALL TICKETS ARE OFFICIALLY SOLD OUT!!!

To give a bit more detail, nearly 3,000 bottles were accounted for almost instantly (less than a few seconds)! Due to the number of simultaneous requests to add tickets to carts, many people may have inadvertently been taken to the check-out screen without actually having secured tickets. Fortunately, Eventbrite is more than capable of handling such massive traffic, which judging by the insights on our event page, over 5,000 people were attempting to access tickets at exactly 10:00. So if you had trouble completing registration, it meant that you never actually had tickets secured and and that your request was not received as quickly as others (a difference of milliseconds), because the ~3,000 tickets we had available had already been accounted for. We apologize to anyone who was unable to get tickets this time, but as we mentioned, there is more Medianoche coming very soon!

Exactly what Bottle Logic used to say until they upped the barrel count released. Answer: buy a faster computer. Seriously.

As is usually the case, but even most of those people at least acknowledge there is no perfect system and there will always be someone who "misses out."

100% agree. I thought the release was handled well. Zero complaints from me personally. sometimes you win and sometimes you lose

Exactly. I have lost plenty of lotteries and gotten shut-out of tons of ticketed releases, but you move on easy peasy - nothing gained, nothing lost. Standing in a line, on the other hand, is frustrating 100% of the time, regardless of whether or not you get beer, but obviously wayyyyyyy more so if you still get shut out.

Personally, I much prefer a ticketed release. I enjoy high-end craft but my standing in line days are behind me. Glad I got bottles to sip and share with some friends who hit the slopes today while I was at work on my computer. At least the entire day wasn't a loss!

Did I hear correctly that some allotments will be available to those who stand in line? Or no?

I am certain there will be a number of unclaimed lottery winnings. Maybe those will get stocked into the on-site bottle list.

I wonder how many people who "Won" the Medianoche lottery are from out of state, or have never in the past supported Weldwerks in prior releases. As the "fame" grows, the temptation of people to come in an snipe these bottles increases. Already people are trying to determine what the secondary value of the bottles will be.

Me? I'm happy I'll get to try them with my dad.
One of my friends also won and did 1/1 on the bottles.

No for line waiting, they will have 5 releases (non-medianoche) this Friday to go along with it. I'd imagine yes the extras will end up on-site or festivals

PB opened around $200 but immediately seems to have fallen back down to about 120-130. BB is a bit lower
