We're still inspecting, waxing and labeling, but we'll have more than 300 bottles available but less than 500. Is that vague enough? :stuck_out_tongue:

Thanks for the feedback. I totally respect and understand your position, even if we don't agree. Cheers!

I would love to hear your thoughts on our bastardized Kellerbier @Domingo. I know you're probably not in Greeley often but if you find yourself up here, beers are on me.

Lotteries are no fun without an entry, that's for sure.

At this point, it sounds like only 1 in 3-4 current entries would be selected. By 10:00 tomorrow night, we might be looking at 1 in 10...and quite possibly even less. Craziness!

Do you think you'll end up having this available on draft in the near future or did the entire yield end up in bottles?

I'll have to get up there one of these days - I like Mexican lagers and kellerbiers, so it sounds up my alley.

This entire batch was bottled so it won't be on draft anywhere, unfortunately. But we're already working on the next round of Medianoche and there's a strong likelihood that Double Barrel Rum Medianoche will be on tap by the time the Vanilla Medianoche bottles are ready for pick up (draft only, no bottles).

    Agreed.

You always want to try and please every customer, but certain people will complain no matter what the situation is, and there comes a point where it's not worth the added stress to deal with them. To go along with great beers, Weldwerks has always had amazing customer service, and they are equal reasons why I've become such a fan.

I assumed that was the case, but the DB Rum Medianoche sounds amazing, so that will be a nice consolation prize for those not able to get their hand on the Vanilla.

My take is that Medianoche Reserve was one of the best and most memorable beers I had last week at Rare and that was a list full of standouts. It was simply amazing!! I for one can't wait to try Vanilla if I'm lucky enough to get a ticket, Neil pretty much said it was going to be more expensive so I'm not shocked at all. I spend $55 a week between breweries and liquor store anyways so next week maybe I will just be pulling from the cellar instead

Taken out of context, of course the simple declaration of "FUCK YOU WELDWERKS" seems pretty final, but if you look at it within the context of "Fuck you Weldwerks for making this infinitely frustrating decision" it's not so cut and dry. I can be pissed at a decision they made and still support the brewery, the two are not mutually exclusive. I missed out and was pissed (even got quoted in the Westword article today!) but I never once even insinuated I wouldn't be supporting them in the future. Hell, I still drove up last Wednesday and enjoyed the Vanilla Rye and CMA on draft, bought a bunch of cans, and had a great time. I think the lottery this time around much a much better choice than another free-for-all and you're God damn right I entered.

Definitely a steep price on this and I could really go without the $10 donation, but I entered the lottery regardless. I love just about everything WW has put out and their BA beers are world class obviously. I've spent $50 multiple times on bottles of Dark Lord variants and about $60ish each on a couple bottles of Rare. There's no doubt in my mind that this beer will be just as good if not better than any of the beers I've spent $50 or more on. Regardless if my friends or I win the lottery, we will still be going up to the taproom at some point that weekend to indulge in all of the other goodies that will be available. Cheers to Neil and crew for being the best in Colorado (imo of course).

I don't understand the bitching about the price. This will sell out instantly, which means the market price is not high enough.

You gotta cash in while you can. Never know when you'll be playing that Crooked Stave "switch formats multiple times to get people buying your limited releases" game.

Wait, what do you mean you don't understand the bitching about the price? Its fifty five freakin dollars, lmao.

Look, I'm happy that these guys are capitalizing off their great work in brewing. From their FB posts it seems like they really have an interest in investing in Greeley. And this is America, so everyone has the right to make $$ off stupid shit, so I'm glad that brewers are taking advantage of that because I happen to respect this particular variety of craftsmanship that goes into it. Especially these guys, they seem to make good shit & care about their community and employees.

But I'm pretty young and I'm pretty broke. A big part of the reason that I got into beer in the first place is that there is an mindset of approachability behind it -- even the craft scene where you can honestly get world class beers for $10 a sixer, and everyone wants to talk and everyone wants to share beers with ya. The whole reason that I'm not on Wine Advocate right now is because that approachability isn't there to the same extent, either in the culture or especially in the price.

Everyone else is entitled to their opinion in this thread and I get where y'all are coming from. Especially when @tylerstubs says cash in when you can. It's a business after all. But $55 is about twice the cost of the most expensive beer I've seen on the shelves. I don't really think they had to put this price tag on it based on cost of inputs and I think it makes it totally unapproachable. I think it's OK to understand what they are doing but still criticize the price point since it doesnt share my philosophy around beer. Similar to how a lot of people on here reacted to Walt Dickinson selling to High End... glad they made a decision that is good for them financially, but it doesn't really square with my ethos on craft beer.

Anyway, thanks to @Tarheel4985 for taking time to explain their decision making here and on FB and congrats on your GABF success!

This sentence is a grammatical nightmare... And a conundrum, as "good whiskey" doesn't come in pints.

I agree, I just don't like to see beer go this way. The ability to get world class beers at a reasonable price is one of the main reasons I'm way more into beer than liquor. I worry that the days of absolutely incredible beers being under $5 a 12 oz to 15-20 a bomber may be coming to an end. I can't blame a brewery for charging a lot for their best beers, but at this price I'll choose to spend my money elsewhere. There are tons of great BA stouts that are much cheaper, and even though I occasionally splurge on these super expensive bottles, most of the time they aren't that much better. Hopefully I get a chance to try this one at a share, it sounds awesome, but I don't think I'd be willing to travel and spend that to get it.
