Not a fan of this beer. Bought 2 of them. I will send it to the first person that didn't get any this year. Please be honest. If you want to send something back, cool. If not, no worries. Just want to give someone else the chance to try this.

while in NC recently I hunted and picked this up, my buddies and I tried it and didn't really like it either.

The raspberry taste seemed a bit syrupy to me, and not all that great. The imperial stout and Event Horizon on the other hand, I found to be delicious.

The Lp I had on tap was all barrel, very little fruit, I think inconsistent .

I think what you'll find with LP is mixed views. Perhaps due to inconsistencies, or different taste buds. I for one bought 2 bottles. Disliked the first one and tried to convince myself it was ok. Bought another, still disliked. I bought some Event Horizon and I have to say it's very well crafted and I'll probably buy more and more...

Probably should update this. This was spoken for last night and will be going out next week.

On a side note. Plenty of Bouron County Barleywine @ the Total Wine on Ballantyne Commons in Charlotte.

LP seems to be very inconsistent. over numerous bottles and tastings I learned that I really disliked it in 2011 and loved it in 2012. Haven't had a chance to try this year's, but i've also cut back on a lot of drinking as well.

LP is best with age on it IMO. The raspberries fade and are less of an assault on the palate after about 6-12 months. 2012 is drinking nicely. As far as Event Horizon is concerned, this year's batch is my favorite that they've ever crafted.

That's exactly what I found out last year. Aging is great for this beer. Event Horizon is no slouch on that either.

Just traded for a 2013 LP and a 2013 EH. It will be my first time having either. This thread has been very informative!
