In Dayton for the night and was looking to pick up some beers that I can't get back in Illinois. Any recommendations for breweries to look for / beers to try? Also looking for a good store - thinking Belmont Party Supply looks to advertise their craft selection, so will probably go there.
I'm not positive, but I've heard that MadTree (Cincinnati Brewery) beers make it as far north as Dayton. Their Happy Amber, Psychopathy, and Gnarly Brown are all good.
Not sure if it gets there but brew kettle white rajah and fat heads head hunter are top notch ipa's...nosferau by greatlakes is on the shelves...not sure if u get that one.
Also grab yourself a six pack of Columbus Brewing Company's IPA, and a growler of their double IPA Bodhi if you can.
I think Madtree only comes as far north as Warren County - I've seen them at Dorothy Lane Market in Springboro.
Belmont Party Supply (BPS) does a good job posting new beer releases on Facebook. https://www.facebook.com/#!/pages/Belmont-Party-Supply/123054701084193 Lager Heads is another Ohio beer you might want to try. BPS has a big selection of singles as well.
I got that same Hoppin Frog and Fat Head at Meijer some random night traveling through Ohio and was not disappointed.
