Will be driving down in a couple weeks from Cleveland Ohio to Wilmington. trying to decide on taking 77 south or 95 south. Looking for suggestion a on places to stop along either route. Also curious on how bad 95 traffic is. Will be traveling on Saturday

If you take 95 you miss everything in NC pretty much.

Coming down 77 you can hit winston (Foothills Brewery, City Beverage Bottle Shop, Greensboro (Bestway), Saxapahaw (Haw River), and then a ton of breweries and bottle shops in Raleigh (I love trophy and crank arm... locals would have to shift you towards bottle shops and other breweries).

    Driving wise: 77 >>>>>>> 95

You can either zig-zag toward Raleigh on 40 from 77 or go through Charlotte and then down 74. 95 is typically a fugging horror show unless you are driving through the night.

And if you take 77 to 40, don't miss Haw River. Its only 10min off the interstate and then you can continue to take back roads to Chapel Hill and then continue on I-40.

Wilmington Brewing is awesome, my favorite brewery in Wilmington. I've been to most of the others (Bill's Front Porch, Waterline, Front Street, Ironclad, Fly Trap, even Good Hops in Carolina Beach), but wouldn't really say any are must stops - although I've heard good things out of New Anthem, so might want to check them out.

New Anthem is putting how incredible beer for only being a couple of months old. would certainly add them to the must stop list (sorry its late for the OP, but in case anyone else is coming to Wilmington and sees this thread).
