1st,let me say after doing some research,I see that Brawley's,Good Bottle,Healthy Home Mkt.,and Common Mkt. are some of the top shops in town.I am sending a co-worker thats goin there for the holidays to Brawley's(seems to be the top rated shop) to chat w/Mike and pick me up some goods.

My question is:Whats avail. right now that I need to know about on shelves?Anything?Local Breweries?,doesn't matter.I am gonna have him pick me up some Bell's Two Hearted, its been a min. and I need a fix!

    Any help is appreciated.

    Cheers All......!

Wake N Bake just arrived...sorry to say that all the Two Hearted I have seen around charlotte has a bottle date of Sept/Oct which sucks as its a great IPA when less than a month old IMO...there is breakfast stout all over...event horizon and big bad baptist...stone 12 12 12..Pisgah Valdez...I have been enjoying frostbite (BIPA) from foothills lately...

Bell's Expedition. Also look out for stuff from Ballast Point, Bear Republic, Dark Horse, and some other good non-NC breweries that distribute here (check SeekABrew.com).

Brawley's carries bombers from Olde Mecklenburg here in Charlotte, our full lineup. On an unrelated note, he's also an incredibly nice guy, especially to first time visitors. Tell your friend to carve out some time to hang out and chat.

Yeah Mike Brawley is great with suggestions so maybe just tell your friend what styles you favor and Mike can help him pick out the local standouts.

You can find bottles of Olde Mecklenburg, Olde Hickory, Duck-Rabbit, Highland, Mother Earth and Foothills (and maybe even Foothills' new six-packs; not sure if they've landed yet). He may have some growlers from OMB and NoDa, too.

I see you're into stouts and porters. You might see if Brawley's still has Pisgah's Valdez, as that's a great coffee stout. On that note, Highland's Thunderstruck Coffee Porter is out also. Mother Earth's Silent Night is pricey, but certainly tasty. Ask your friend to see if Duck-Rabbit's Baltic Porter has landed yet -- it should be soon.

I'd recommend our state's locals first and foremost, but if you're looking for other brands you don't get in Connecticut you can compare your distribution with NC's at www.seekabrew.com. I just did, and it's showing these brands (and more) as ones we get that you don't:

Healthy Home Market on South Blvd. really has an impressive selection of beers. Earlier this week I saw several cases of Highland's Cold Mountain in 12 oz bottles...a wonderful winter beer. Good Bottle Co is practically across the street with several taps and a nice selection as well. I may be in the minority here, but Total Wine & More on Providence Rd. has a pretty good selection too...just check the dates on the bottle first. They had a couple bottles of Event Horizon earlier in the week. Cheers!
