Oddly enough, I'm just not excited about Octoberfest beers this year. Odd, because they've been a big thing for me the last couple of years. I did have a great one at Royal Bavaria last week, and will assuredly have at least a few from Marshall and COOP, but I'm not excited that it's Octoberfest time.

Not sure where to jump in on this, but thought I'd finally show my face here. Looking through the posts I know most of you already and for those of you I don't know, hi I'm Ben. And yes I have beer problem, it's not quite sucking dick for coke, but it is what it is.

I hear it's going to be slightly sour as well....

But it is barrel aged, pretty sure it was the JD barrels the stout was in. I argued that we say barrel aged for the same reason. It was too late...

I hope it is not in the least sour. That style has never appealed to me and I was so looking forward to the Wheat Wine.

anyone know where to get Session '33 in cans?
It was at the Society Anniversary in Plaza,
but in stores I'm only finding bottles.
I dig it by the way, what's everyone else think?

Not sure about package stores, but the Wormy Dog Saloon seems to be the epicenter for Mustang in the OKC area. They carried both cans & draught when I visted earlier this summer. 33' is solid stuff for 3.2%ABW... CHEERS!

Not big on it having a sour characteristic. Sometimes you just leave well enough alone. Still excited to try it. Never can tell.

I feel funny about it. Based on the description on the label, it doesn't sound that great but like others have mentioned, Ill defiantly try some. I gotta give props to coop for experimenting with some uncommon styles. the WWW and then this. Well see how it goes. Hoping for the best

speaking of has anyone seen any wild wheat wines still sitting around OKC? Ive been meaning to grab a few to save awhile... was a really big fan.

Oh, I'll be buying a bottle for sure. Always support local and ya never know until you try it yourself. But a sour barleywine doesn't have any appeal to me. An established style that doesn't need to be messed with.

In a way though, it sounds like they're just too lazy to buy some new barrels since the TROIS '11 went sour, the Wild Wheat Wine, and now this. Clearly opinion, of course.
