Started a pumpkin ale over two weeks ago. No action in the air lock but some foaming still inside. I did a 10 gallon batch and want to rack 5 and keg the other 5. Should I wait for foam to settle or go ahead and rack and keg? I know patience is always the best policy but I just finished off my porter and have no homebrew goodness to drink and share. I used S05 yeast and have been fementing at about 68 F. Don't think it's an infection issue because it appears to have a normal odor.

How big is the beer? Did you take a gravity reading? If so, has it remained steady?

I would leave it and wait another week or two. I generally give my beers at least a month on primary (I almost never do a secondary) before kegging.

I almost always wait till around 3 weeks just to give it a little time to do its thing. Once the gravity is the same for 3 days though, you're probably good to go

Take a gravity reading. Take another one in three days. If they are the same and in the ballpark of what you were expecting, then attenuation is done. If attenuation is done, taste that sample. If there are no off flavors, go ahead and package.
