Still learning I would say more than 20, finding those that are good to stock my fridge to drink during the week. Try not to buy the same six pack more than once a month. Most of my samples are at bars where I can do tastings and not fully invest, plus allows me to try several high ABV's and not get hammered.

 

6-7 is my number.

It would be more but it's not easy to find new beers living in the capital of Australia (Canberra) which only has a population of 350k.

There is a bottleshop called Plonk which has the largest beer selection in Australia, and is conveniently located in Canberra but is only open 4 days a week, and cooincidentally I've been working nights (ie sleeping during the day) on the exact 4 days it is open for the past month.

Soon I will fill my fridge door with new beers, soon...

 

Well.. according to Untappd, I started the year out around 2,100 distinct beers and now I'm at 2,413 and counting.

So what, like 50-100 ticks a month at this point?

I get together for at least 1 to 3 bottleshares a week though..

I'd say 90% of my purchases are new beers. I rarely revisit except for local stuff.

 

I'm probably right around 8 - 12 on average. For those who eclipse 30 per month, wow. I have respect and crazy jealousy for that!

 

I use to buy a full 6 or 4 pk of anything I wanted to try because I feel I need more than one of a certain beer to understand it. But due to misses outweighing the hits and the cost involved, now I mostly buy what I know I like of local beers and pick up a several singles I want to try.

 

I have tried to drink a new beer almost every day; and often that would turn into two or three, for the last couple of years.
Trip to Ecuador in February/March this year seriously dented that average...glad to be back, and back on track!

 

Lately it seems that every beer I drink is a new beer to me. Ive been slacking lately but I was trying for a new beer a day.

 

Average about 1-3 new beers every day... still keep finding new stuff out there so much great goodies out there!

 

So if I am reading between the lines, I am seeing that craft beer tourism in Ecuador isn't exactly "a thing"

 

I've been on the site for just over 14 months and I'm sitting at 406 beers. That averages out to an average of 29 new beers per month. I do make it a point to try as many new beers as possible though I do still regularly buy an old tried and true standby beer.

Agreed. Going to the various bottle shops is like looking for tasty treasure...like searching for penny candy was at the GC Murphy Five and Dime...

 

Yup been doing that off and on now for 4-5 years... still keeps growing.

 

Yeah according to the math I am averaging 25 per month. Work is really putting a damper on my adventure. Maybe when I retire I can up my average
