Will be flying into OKC for a visit home to Lake Texoma. Been a while since I've flown into the city. Looking for some info on a bottle shop or two to stop at on the way down. I remember the wine cellar and hob nob robs in Norman. Are there some recent releases to pick up? Heard about wine barrel noir. Any must stop bars? McNellies and The Republic come to mind.
You are on the right track. Supposedly Freeman's is the best store in the area. A lot of people like Tapwerks bar-wise. It didn't really wow me...
Mahalo. Was in OKC for over a month about 18 months ago & didn't know the place was there. Lord knows the places I did go made me miss the stores in the Tulsa area...
Check out Freemans & The Well of OKC. Freemans is on 44th & Western Ave. in OKC & The Well is the first shop you come to off of the Memorial / Turnpike Exit off of Lake Hefner Parkway. It's connected to an Ethanol Free / CNG Gas Station. As far as Bars Saint's Irish Pub has great beer & cocktails with amazing food to boot. Right across the street is the Mule which is a Grilled Cheese Bar. Good tap selection at both (in terms of locals) Tapwerks & Mcnellies satisfy the standard 50+ taps style bar. Favorite brewpub is Belle Isle brewery, they have begun hosting tours under 20$ & you get a full panel taste, a brewery glass, & a special one off beer (5-10 gals) cheers zadeh
