Good news is that COOP is coming to Texas soon, and once their base offerings are distro'd and tasted by the majority, discussions will ramp up about their non base beers.

Not that that'll completely remedy the situation, but at least you'll have some Okie love aside from Prairie.

I had an eye early on Anthem thinking they'd expand quickly into Texas but that didn't happen, so unfortunately I've lost track of some of what they are doing. How are their offerings? I've had Uroboros and one or two can offerings but not much else.

I'm a fan of Rock Tsar and Coffee Tsar! Don't hear much about those beers.

I had their IPA back last summer and actually brought some home with me. I thought it was one of the better beers I tried when I was up there that trip.

Alpha Hive is fantastic. I'm a big fan of Gran Sport Porter as well. Great from the can and killer from the tap.

It's always been a bit "sporadic" on this forum in regards to OK+ beer news, although I believe the record was 36 straight weeks if memory serves me. We really have way more going on behind the scenes than shows up on the radar. Texas can be jealous of our shelves for once. Cheers! :grinning::stuck_out_tongue:

I was down in the Brady District today. Prairie's new place isn't open, but I'm guessing soon, as they had signs saying training was in progress. That place looks like it will be fantastic!

yeah my daughter is trying to talk me into coming up for the Hop Jam, but not sure I am in for it. The brewery list looks fantastic, so that might persuade me, but being on a Sunday is a killer. Will have to see, if the Prairie place is open, that might sway me, spend the evening there on Saturday, go to McNeilly's for dinner, then Hop Jam on Sunday, can't beat that

This is why I fucking hate people from the coasts. They still assume that we know nothing about the modern world, and it's a good thing I've never had to deal with someone pulling this shit after I've had 3-4 beers at the bar, because it would probably lead to a fight very quickly after my very brief rebuttal.

I know you were kidding because regardless of which side of the Red River you live on, you will almost always poke fun at the state on the other side of the river. Really the only time to keep those OK/TX jokes to yourself is at the Texas State Fair before, during and after the Red River Rivalry game because sometimes that's just a powder keg waiting to go off. If you're planning a beercation, Friday and Saturday are going to be your best days to do so since most of the tap rooms at the breweries will be open those two days. Plus there's plenty of good bar options in the OKC, or Tulsa, metro areas.

I'm currently on a business trip to Tulsa. Pleasantly surprised by some of the bars, especially R Bar & Grille. Really nice selection of local stuff (definitely enjoyed Marshall's Black Dolphin Stout) as well as from around the country. I couldn't believe seeing KBS '16 on draft. The bartender, who seemed quite knowledgeable, said they also have a keg of KBS '15 which they will eventually tap and turn into a tasting event. Looking forward to seeing what else Tulsa has to offer.
