I see that this festival is this weekend. Has anyone gone to this is past years? Does this party serve craft beers, or do they focus more on BMC and German foods, etc? Their website is no help with any description.

Used to live there, Beer is generally Hofbrauhaus and german food. Honestly if you aren't into polka (the music and the dance) it is not that fun, but if you do go, spend lots of time at the Lager Mill and The Black Forest.

I went probably 6 years ago and don't plan on going back. The atmosphere was fine (if you don't loud mind polka/german music) but the beer list was pretty mediocre. That may have changed but when we went they had Hofbrauhaus Oktoberfest and Lager and Labatts Blue and Blue Light. Don't remember the food but I'm sure it was brats and other german foods.

I'm going there for my first time tomorrow. I see pictures of some people with liter steins and some with plastic. Should I bring a stein? Or do they have them there already?

Don't bother with Black Forest; they are no longer a brewery.

And yet they are still pouring the best beer in town.

Okay, I knew Black Forest was for sale, but what's going on to cause these two statements to be made?

Probably, it's too early to say but I think we'll need a new home.

You are correct. Its going in the new Beer Engine location.
You'll be one of a few people to drink beer made in 2 different states off the same system. :sunglasses:

Wasn't aware any of Dave's beer was still left, Tom. Thanks for clarifying, I'll be up tomorrow to get a final sip!

Some brewing systems are well traveled. I have had 2 instances where the beer came from systems in different states.
The Corner Brewery system was bought from Rio Salado in Tempe AZ.
The system Greenbush had when they opened was from San Francisco brewing.

There are a few more out there.

Will let Mike O. know that the pico brewing system is now in KY.

You can try the best Marzen brewed in the U.S.
