I'd like to see some proof of that because the 2 beers have different flavor characteristics -- does the sinamar add flavor changes as well as color changes?

Since Hacker-Pschorr is brewed under the same roof as Paulaner these days, is their Amber Märzen sinamar colored as well?

I wa told the story by someone who had been in Paulaner brewery and asked why they had Sinamar hangiing around. My guess would be that the Hacker-Pschorr is made the same way.

I'm pretty sure they made their Dunkles that way for a while, too. It had absolutely no Munich malt character. Though the last time I tried it it did.

Along with the flavor differences in the 2 beers, color me skeptical until I see solid proof besides a second hand report.

My next query is why, if they are the same beer, do they report two different ABVs? The Amber Märzen is 5.8 and the Wies'n 6.0. Does the sinamar dilute the beer?
