Anyone open a bottle in the 2-4 year old timeframe of the Old Numbskull?

    How did it go?

This beer has been a conundrum for me. The first few times I had it (about 10 years ago) it seemed fairly malty and balanced for a U.S. barley wine. Since that time, I have opened several in the 2 - 5 year range, and they have seemed too hoppy for the malt profile. So, I guess if you are wanting there to still be a strong hop presence, go for it. If you're seeking balance, you might consider waiting - if your storage is appropriate.

I had a (I believe) 2007 the other day, really didn't like it.

My only bottle was a year old (2011) and though it was good, I could have used less hops.
