I recently had a four month old Torpedo from a can and it was absolutely brutal. I can't say how iit was treated in the run up to me drinking it, but I won't be taking a chance on older cans again. . .

It mainly comes down to cooking temp/time, like others have said low and slow is good. If you simmer it too long the bitterness can take on an unpleasant tannic quality.

I found a four pack of Torpedo in the trunk of my car under a blanket last month. I made a beer run about six months ago, picked up the 4-pak of Torpedo on a whim, and just plain forgot I had it. At around 5 months, it was still quite tasty and the hop profile seemed more pronounced. Reminded me of Stone's Ruination with a rougher edge. Not bad at all...

Brady, Try this for super hoppy and replace with whatever beer you seem fit.
I made this recipe with NB Ranger and paired it with a Terrapin Wake N Bake

It's Korean, but Shin Raymun and a delicious IPA or two is my traditional "I spent all my food money on beer" meal.
