I have an Old Cellar Dweller that has no wax or date on the bottle. It has a gold foil cap, and was purchased last year. Is it safe to assume it is a 2012?
Hello! OCD is released towards the end of every year, the latest vintage being 2012 which was wax-topped and dated. I believe you've got an '11 on your hands - the 11's and 9's were undated. Here's a picture of a vertical we had earlier this year: Far right is 08, with 12 second from the left and barrel dweller on the far left. You can just make out the lack of date on the 09 and 11 - and the slightly different labels, which can confirm which one yours is. I think the 11's which made it to the american market were labelled at 14% too, as opposed to the 12% visible on the '09 here... but less sure about that. Enjoy it!
this is an incredible beer...the wax over the cap is just difficult enough to remove to make the drinking that much more enjoyable!
