They never survived that whole "mouse in a bottle" controversy...

Linden Brewing Co. 80 Montauk Hy., Lindenhurst, NY. Operated 1933-1948. "1933" inscribed in concrete. Currently occupied by commercial tenant. Brand Linden Beer was later brewed by Eastern Brewing. See notes in "Tavern Trove"

Blue Point Brewing Co. 161 River Av. Patchogue, NY, 1998 to about 2018 (after purchaser ABInbev occupied new location). Google Maps shows building renovated for current tenant. Draft beers, growlers, and bombers were produced here. Other bottle beers were usually contract brewed. Tap room featured 3 four oz. free samples of the standard beers. I saw a memorable blues show by Lil' Ed and the Blues Imperials in their brewhouse one cool winter night.

Chicago: Best Brewing renovated as Brewery Lofts. We spoke to the owner Mr. Hasterlik about his Chicago brewing experience at his office there in about 1976, before the renovation. A beauty of a photo:

The first one that comes to mind is Olympia’s Old Brewery in Tumwater, Washington (1906-1934)

Also, the original Rainier Brewery in the Georgetown neighborhood of Seattle, which was built in the 1890s. Now home to Fran’s Chocolates.

    In 1904:

My dad drove a delivery truck for Franklin Brewing in Columbus, Ohio, back in the early 50's. It's long gone, but the Brewery District is still hoppin'. (No pun intended. Or was it...?)

It looks like they actually removed the top two levels of the building. Also a lot of the decorative work on the part of the building on the right side of the frame.

The first time I went down to this location I had no idea what it was. I was going to a bottle shop across the street (Full Throttle) and then I saw this beautiful old brick building with “STOCK-HOUSE,” “BREW-HOUSE” etc. carved in stone. A big piece of Seattle and Northwest history right there.

Ah yeah they did. Interesting. That old building is absolutely gorgeous, I'd love to know why they did away with those top floors

This site references an “emergency demolition” in 2008–maybe those parts of the structure were starting to fall apart and threatening to collapse onto the street and sidewalk below. No idea but that’s a guess.

More info here on the demolition of the Stock House circa 2008. I don’t even know if that’s the same part of the building, it’s a pretty large complex.

RIP valiant brewery in orange, ca. the owner was part of my homebrew club. Felt good to say that a home brewer from our group went professional. They never really became a fully committed brewery as they weren’t open sundays and only a few hours during the week.

Two more members have gone professional and they look like they should last, but who knows.

There was a brief mention of a Standard-Rochester brand the other day in the WBAYDN thread and another one in this Schlitz thread.

Ah, that ignoble fate of many once respected local brands...
which also happened to S-R's Old Topper, as noted in the article:

Well, perhaps there were other problems (Labatt, Carling-O'Keefe and Molson price wars, etc) since, historically, rodents in the beer does not always mean the brewery's demise.

Feigenspan, above, for instance lasted until the 1940s (when it was bought by across the street neighbor, P. Ballantine & Sons) and the Feigenspan family owned and operated Albany's Dobler Brewing Co. until 1959. Ballantine and, later, Falstaff even used "Christian Feigenspan" as a 'dba' name for the 'aged-in-wood ' Munich Beer.

The end of Fort Pitt brewery was sad news for the workers there - a decade earlier, the brewery advertised that "More Fort Pitt Beer is sold in Pennsylvania than any other brand" - but the company itself had an interesting portfolio of other products to fall back on.

Thanks @BBThunderbolt for posting this article! Lived my whole life in and around Rochester and know pretty much nothing about the history of any Rochester breweries. Genesee is the only brewery in that article that I have heard of.

I visited the old brewery Sinebrychoff from 1819 in the 80s, impressive how the bottles ran, an honor to follow how the macro lager Koff was made. They even had some horses in the stables. The latter picture is the situation since 1992, the old place being a museum and a park.

That statue was living at Pabst as of a few years ago. Forget the story I was told but it was driven up there. I have a photo on an old computer I can’t boot up.

    Enjoy

The Grain Belt Brewery in NE Minneapolis, MN. Beer was brewed there from 1893 intil the early 1960s, when it was gutted and all the brewing equipment was either sold or scrapped. In 2002 Schell's Brewing of New Ulm acquired Grain Belt from MN Brewing and GB Premium remains very popular along with GB Nordeast. The old keg house, maintenance shop and cold storage rooms (a recording studio for a few yrs) is now a Hennepin Co. public library. The main building is now high end office space. I'm so glad this place didn't get demolished. Side note: this brewery sits 1 city block from the Mississippi River and in the days before refrigeration, men would cut massive blocks of ice from the river, have the horse teams drag them up to the keg haus where beer was kept cool in a bed of straw until sometimes July.
