I picked up one bottled in September. The 4pk rang up as $3. So I didn't complain about anything!

Unfortunately, I'm still seeing it sitting on the shelves here as well... Founders is a fairly recent addition to the TN market and I thought this would fly off the shelves... It did... for a while... With a price point of $18/4 pack kept it from being a regular purchase for me... Love the beer but with fresher Centennial in cans or Harvest Ale on the shelves, it's hard to justify picking more of this up. However, an earlier post mentioned something about this turning into a good barleywine and that's definitely a thought... If the price point here comes down a little, I will probably pick some up just to experiment.

Oh I totally agree - it just sits there for me too - I walk past and get something else that is fresh. I won't bother with an IPA or DIPA if it isn't within about 6-8 weeks of bottling (max) because I likely will take 3 or 4 weeks to finish the 6 pack so that is pushing 3 months by the time I drink the last one. I wouldn't touch Double Trouble more than 6 weeks after it was bottled - at that price it had better be perfect and fresh for me to pay $3 a bottle! I picked up a 6 pack of revolution unsessionable that was canned 5 days before I bought it - why would I buy old double trouble if I can have amazingly fresh unsessionable for the same per can/bottle price!

Now that said, if it was half price I would probably take the risk and go for it, but the discounting needs to come from the brewery & distributor - the retailer just can't eat that kind of loss regularly and stay in business!

Too funny, I meant 7 weeks. I blame it on the beer... & Turkey...

I've had to educate some of the lesser beer shops on what they need to move fast and what can keep. Some just don't know. Some customers don't either and will still buy it.
