So many IPAs out there and everyone is chasing the latest greatest. What was hot last month, sits on the shelf this month. Some friends and I did blind tasting of some IPAs that were past the "best buy" date; we compared them to their fresh counterparts. The results were all over the board. Most people admitted they could not tell which one was the freshest... of the two, old and fresh, they tended to pick the one they liked. It was 50/50. No one had the ability to pick the freshest even most of the time. Just sayin'. This would probably be different if they were really old. The ones we had were 60 to 180 days out. Good luck getting a rep/distributor to come into an Oklahoma store and take back to the out-of-date. They say you ordered too much! Never mind that it was DELIVERED out-of-date! If you want fresh, buy local...IMHO that's what it is really all about anyway.
