    December 14 | 10:00 am - 12:00 pm

    @ Thomas Hooker Brewery

The Old Marley Barleywine makes it’s return Saturday, December 14th at 10am! Exclusively at the brewery and available in single 12oz bottles, 4 packs and by the case. Come join us at this special release!

Straight off the website. Has anyone had experience with this beer? Is it worth picking up?

Sits/sat on shelves for months and months previous years. Supposedly pretty good, especially for Hooker.

About 2 miles from my house, but I am going to be out of town that day. I was just hoping I would be able to find it somewhere after the release/ making sure people wouldnt be kicking the brewery doors down at 10AM to take it all

Which is funny, since it's been a shelf turd for the last few years.

Maybe that's why they're trying the hype tactic.

But I will say, after the many years that I boycotted them after Paul "left", I've had some recently (like at a restaurant where there's nothing better on tap), and the beer's gotten a lot better. And I went to a fundraiser for the Simsbury Fire Dept there a few months ago and the IPA straight out of the tank was flat out deliscious. Anyhoo...

Sounds like I may have to give them another try. Most likely going to check out the open house Friday the 20th if anyone else is in the area. 5-8PM $10

That's good news. I think the 1st year the Munson's Chocolate came out, it' was great on draft.

Had Hop Meadow on draft a few months ago and it was terrible. Like "didn't finish it" bad.

any reports? the weather kept me from making the trek up north. I think I still have a 2005 bottle in the cellar. Would be interested to see how this batch turns out. seems like 12 oz bottles is the delivery?

I spit a case with a couple of buddies (it worked out to about $3 a bottle plus two free glasses). It is a really nice beer, i am pleasantly surprised. i think most of their beers are not very good (except munsons chocolate, imperial porter, and now old marley).
