Have seen some new beers from this brewery I had never heard of popping up here in Michigan. I noticed first with their beer called "Detroit Dwarf" and now "Sanders Chocolate Stout" that both these beers were first Brewed by Detroit Beer Co. Does anybody know if Detroit Beer Co's. Head Brewer left for this place or what exactly the story is. I'm yet to try any of their beers, any info would be great.

    Going off memory here.

One of the founders of Old Nation was the brewer for the distribution arm of Detroit Beer Company. That distribution arm was called Detroit Brewing Company, most likely for licensing purposes. These are the same beers as Detroit Brewing was distributing, AFAIK.

Detroit Dwarf is still a staple house beer at the Detroit Beer Company brewpub.

Thanks for the response. I thought it was too coincidental for their not to be a connection of some sort. Looking forward to trying some of these.

I've had a few and I think they're beers are solid, nothing amazing, nothing awful. Beers are approachable for everyone. Don't expect to be blown away by anything, but their beers are super solid

Decent beers. I live about 10 minutes from the brewery and have been a few times. Waitstaff was often confused and slow. I enjoyed 10 penny bit and cake czar (imperial version of cake boss). As they started bottling and offered almost their entire lineup I don't know why I would go to the taproom to get it. Need to start rocking some specialty tap offerings. Something to get locals coming back. Although in Williamston there isn't a ton going on, so if I lived there I would probably be in more often.

They do have good pricing in the taproom though. I think pints were like $3.75 and mugs were $4.25 (or something close) and they ran some specials to get them even cheaper.

Good poutine. Especially when it was $7. Then they jacked it to $10 and it's just over priced.

I haven't been back lately as I have a newborn, although we did go with her when she was a couple weeks old, but hat was when she just slept all the time. A little harder now.
