Don't get me wrong. Breakfast Stout is an amazing beer. I guess it's like having a gorgeous woman walk by you and when she passes an even prettier one walks past..
    Cheers!

Yes.....Thanks for pointing that out. But breakfast weighs in at 8.3% so it is close. I just wanted to pick some brains...and it worked there is alot of beer knowledge and opinions on here. The store also has Founder's KBS..Maybe that would be a better comparison. I'll bet it's awesome as well

Right.....I've quickly learned that you can't get anything past a bunch of beer junkies
Just for you guys.......my next trip will be for the purchase of Founders KBS.....which is an actual Imperial stout. Thanks for getting me on the right track.....I bet it will be as awesome as the previous beers mentioned.

    That's incorrect as well.

KBS is pretty much an Imperial version of Breakfast Stout (Oatmeal Stout with coffee and chocolate/cacao nibs) + it's aged in bourbon barrels. Old Rasputin is an (Russian) Imperial Stout without anything added. You can compare it Founders Imperial Stout, Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout (doesn't contain any chocolate), Bell's Expedition Stout, Sierra Nevada Narwhal, Great Lakes Blackout Stout, Thirsty Dog Siberian Night and Oskar Blues Ten Fidy, Victory Storm King, Great Divide Yeti, Bear Republic Big Bear Black Stout, Clown Shoes Undead Party Crasher.

I'll keep Old Rasputin in the house, but not the Founder's
There is another one I keep in the house that is not metioned, but it should:
    Oscar Blues Ten-Fiddy

Both are fine brews but my profile pic shows my vote. It's become harder to find here lately. Hazy IPAs taking all the shelf space

Two very excellent beers I almost always purchase when I see them. I gotta give the edge to Raspy though

Definitely old Rasputin. FBS is a fine enough beer, for a baby! Seriously though its just too sweet to be a regular beverage choice for me. Honestly don't remember the last time I drank one.

Out here they kept the price/oz pretty much the same, 8.99/4x12 11.99/4x16 (which is technically like 0.004$ higher than if the $/oz were identical so I guess they're still gettin us with that damn pounder can tax!)

    FBS for sure.

I think that Old Raspy is a solid beer but slightly over-rated. FBS has the perfect blend of roasted goodness and drinkability. It's my #2 rated beer out of over 2000 reviews.

Ok... found FBS in Vicksburg MS today, date on bottle 1/4/21 (8.99$ for 4pack)
whole bottle in a glass 62F... coffee aroma very far away
the same month Reve (coffee stout from Parish - 10.99$ for 4pack) better coffee aroma...

These 2 beers are very different from each other FBS has added flavor Old Rasputin doesn't. I prefer Imperial Stouts without added flavors.

Agreed , also IMO most of those beers are better than Old Rasputin.

Apples and oranges. Two different kinds of stouts. For the record I dig both.

FBS wins hands down for me...I avg. one or two per week for breakfast. I like OR, but probably drink one a year. My RIS go to is CCB’s Marshall Zhukov’s. Cheers!

    Old Rasputin .
That said, if Peche Mortel was there, it would move to the head of the line.
& for me, if they ever bring it back, So Tier 2XPresso would edge out FBS at the wire. (Especially w/ 3-5 drops of datil pepper sauce added. :+1:)
