Anyone know when this one is going to hit?
I don't know when it will be released, but I know how long it will sit on the shelves.
Forever? What's the price of this guy gonna be, $25+?
I do enjoy this beer, but for the price point it just doesn't deliver. Doesn't mean it won't sell, but I'd rather have a standard Old Rasputin any day.
Probably a little longer than that.
Was it that much? I thought it was 20..ill still buy one, buyers remorse is a good cause to drink. I prefer my buyers remorse to be drowned by barrel aged stouts and barleywines.
Last year I brought one on New years eve, I also brought a couple bottles of champaign that were much more that I enjoyed much less.
I had the XIV at a beer festival in October and was first time I had it. I had KBS and Bell's Black Note at the same festival and enjoyed the XIV the best of the three. I heard it sold for $20/bottle which is definitely pricey but I enjoyed it enough to buy a bottle of the XV if I can find it.
Recommend to let sit or drink fresh?
I opened a XIV at a tasting Sat night and was not really impressed. My first go at this beer, did we just have an off day/bottle? Were peeps generally happy with BA Raspy? I love regular Old Rasputin so thought the barrel treatment would blow me away. Not so much.
I think it's really good fresh and with 2 years.
BA raspy 12 is available at Lush in University Village Lush for $25-$30
I thought that the 14 was awesome, one of the best ba stouts Ive had
Glad I have another then. All 7 of us were unimpressed. Here's to a second chance....
Not worth the price of admission IMO.
