I will offer an open invitation to members of the community. If ever you are thinking about ordering from BIAB or Etre, etc, and need another guy, hit me up, and I will definitely go in with you. We both win. So it's just like the Seahawks, and the COMPLETE OPPOSITE of the Broncos.

Note, this offer only applies to those within a day of shipping from Connecticut. Basically, within a 300 mile radius circle from Hartford.

This reminds me that as soon as the weather stops being so cold I've got 3 boxes of loons coming from Etre :grinning:

Finding etre and biab is the worst thing that ever happened to my wallet, and the best thing that ever happened to my lambic/geuze cellar.

As near as I can tell the way to maximize your shipping with etre is to buy 11 750ml's and a glass or something else lightweight. This will run 78 euro.

With Biab it's around 16 or 17 750ml's. Just play with it and you'll figure it out.

I would say that most people are a little off by saying 2009 because I've been drinking Cantillon since the 90's and I lived most of my life in California. I would say that when Stone starting doing their first Sour Fest that it was already a year or two from when Cantillon would sit on the shelf for long periods of time in San Diego. Around 2005-2006 it was still common to see SOME Cantillon or sitting on the shelf gathering dust but not all types. And also the number of stores that carried Cantillon prior to 2005 was pretty limited. But when American wild ales/sours start to become more popular Cantillon start to move off the shelf quicker, since it has been considered the benchmark for some time.

Had my first Cantillon (Rose De Gambrinus) at a Belgian Cafe in Toronto circa 1989. My palate just wasn't ready for it at the time. And I'm pretty sure I was one of the only people in The Greater Toronto Area had even heard of it then.

That's a nice thought, but there's two problems with it. First, they've already got an importer, and it's unlikely that they would ditch the Shelton Brothers. Second, there's simply not enough beer available for it to ever become a "shelf beer." If there was more to be had I'm sure Shelton would import everything they could get their hands on, because selling Cantillon is basically a license to print money at this point.

My wife and I visit her family a couple times a year in Phoenix. We started doing that back in '07. Until 2010, I'd buy all the Lou Pepes, Lamvys, Krieks, Rose, Vigs, Iris, Fou, you name it. We bought it all because nobody else would. Xmas 2010 rolls around...no where to be found. People caught on. Sure I wish I could go back...but I'm glad other people are experiencing my favorite beers. I'm thankful it's a style that ages well.

When you order from one of these websites, does the box sit a while in America? I'm worried about freezing if I order to New York.

in 2009 you could get it in CT whenever you wanted. in 2010, if you knew where to look, you could get it wherever you wanted. in 2011, if you saw some, you bought it, and bagged whatever the hell you wanted out the trade forum (e.g. Cantillon is how I got all the Brute and LeBleu I drank, among other things. Oh hey, I'm using capital letters suddently).
