Olde Hickory 2014 Imperial Stout

    Had one of these the day after they were in stock and was extremely impressed with this year's batch. Anyone else try the 2014 yet?

    I was up visiting Asheville a while back, and was trying to find Lindley Park. I found Olde Hickory Imperial Stout first and really enjoyed it. I eventually found Lindley Park and was not impressed as I found it way too syrupy/sweet, ended up getting more of the Imperial Stout as I preferred it.

    Lindley is best after a year IMO.

    This is one of my ALL time favorite stouts, I usually buy a case of it every year. I prefer it to Sexual Chocolate IMO. Cheaper, better and easier to find.

    Hmm, I did get to try some Sexual Chocolate and really enjoyed it, now being a Stout fan, I must seek this beer out... Thanks for the heads up.

    I got to try the 2014 on nitro at Vintner Wine Market in Charlotte last night. Very tasty.

    I've never had it on nitro, but that sounds fantastic. Hey @Woodrow any chance of the Busy Bee seeing that?

    Just bought some 2014 yesterday. Can't wait to compare it to my 2013. I thought the 2013 was really good.

    Had nitro draft last night. Soooo freaking smooth. Also had one from the beers engine at the station. It was a cask of IS with cocoa nibs and cayenne. Awesome beer. Pepper was subtle. I had totally forgotten about all the 1-off casks. Look for them in your area! I think this is the only one hickory will get to keep. : (
