-Most of the info is in that link, but here is a summary. Brewery only release some time in December. Should be food, probably BBQ available on site, and the Tap Room and Station are within easy walking distance for other food and have a ton of OHB offerings and guest beers. It is/will be made up of all vintages of Irish Walker that have been barrel aging, several barrel aged one offs, and the granddaddy of them all, a barrel of "Bardstown Brand" that has been in a barrel since 2007ish. Anyways, if Blendiculous (A truly world class barleywine) is any indication of what this beer will be, we are in for a treat.

-Get ready for this stuff y'all. It's going to be great. More info to follow.

-And if you haven't tried Blendiculous, seek it out...

-It doesn't come out in this photo, but all the grey will be metallic foil.

I can't wait for this! At a recent blind tasting (with @JdoubleA) of some of the highest rated barleywines in the world, our three favorites (in no specific order) were Blendiculous, King Henry & Bourbon County. It was too close to call a favorite of those three. If Omega Point is anything close to Blendi it will be one for the ages. Judging by OHB's track record... it's going to be amazing.

I don't think you can tell in the photo, but all the grey on the label will be metallic foil.

I hope this is on a weekend. I will most certainly make my first trip down to Hickory for this one.

Great to know! The wife has been wanting to take a long weekend to Asheville for awhile. Since Hickory is only a little over an hour from there, would make for a great Saturday and weekend!

Nice. I figured when I read about some aging 7 years they were talking about Bardstown Brand. Luckily I've had a handful of them and know how good they are. What is the mention of "several barrel aged one offs"? I see a bunch of vintages of IW and the Bardstown but what are the one offs? Luckily my brother, sister in law and a few of their friends live in Hickory so I'll be set if I can't make it.

-Pretty sure "batch 500" was a barleywine that went straight into barrels and never saw the light of day. That is one that I know of.

Both of the Tale of Two Barrels were 'barrel-aged one-offs', so maybe some of that went in? If so... Just had a bottle of each with a group of friends a couple weeks ago. The saison was absolutely ridiculous. Didn't have it fresh so don't have a comparison point, but pretty awesome. Definitely not what I expected when someone said they had a 1.5-2 year old bottle of saison to taste

-Neither of those is in there. It's all barleywine/old ales. Although the addition of a stout would be interesting.

Yep. When I first started with OHB a few years ago that was one of the first beers we brewed. So it's been aging in barrels for three years :grinning:.

I was told from Steven that the Bardstown barrel is about half full from when it was filled and the rest has "gone to heaven". AKA evaporation. I wonder what the ABV of that beer is now!
